I'm curious, what kind of stands would you guys recommend for mainline (current, studio series, etc) and for masterpiece? I have a few figures that I wouldn't mind posing in flight, but I can't decide on a stand that would be sturdy enough (especially for MP). Do any of you use stands?

I like Tamashii act 5 stands personally. There are clips, and then there are pegs that fit perfectly in certain TFs (they designed them for that size peg) although I've had a few times where TFs fell off the shelf and the stand's peg broke off in the TF stand port, stuck there forever. So I might recommend using the clips instead. Here's a decent thread from TF2005

Worth noting these work better with lighter TFs due to clear plastic rods and friction screws.

I love this community, thank you SO much!! That thread is going to be incredibly useful, I really do appreciate it. I'm going to check out the Tamashii stands, too. Looks like you get 2 for $14 on Amazon, I really appreciate the help here. Thank you!

My favorite flight stands are the ones that come with Mezco One:12 figures. Big and sturdy and can hold heavy figures high up.

Second is probably Bandai stage act; they're not that strong and can't hold heavy figures, but they’re extremely versatile. I can use them to have a Transformers car slightly off the ground due to an explosion, or holding blood splatter effects in place.

Third are those McFarlane flight stands - they’re functional, but only if the joint isn’t too loose, which it is I'd say half the time. And they're really only good for "hovering" poses.

Fourth would be the NECA dynamic flight stands. They're relatively strong, but the part that attaches the clip to the stand is quite fragile, and the clip can’t really be positioned very well.

Last would be those Hasbro ones - too big and chunky and obtrusive. You can't suspend your disbelief when you're using them.

I didn't know this thread existed or I would've posted the McFarlane stand sale info here yesterday. They appear long gone at this point.

I agree on the Mezco stands, they're just so damn expensive — $41 shipped for three stands ... I have seen some eBay auctions for $10 shipped which I've been tempted by but never bit.

After that? It's just a crapshoot. I've have better luck than some with McFarlane stands but I agree they're far from perfect.

Reno pointed out XISTEST stands from Amazon on the McFarlane thread yesterday and I have a few of those. They're pretty good. I use them a lot with the Star Wars Micro Galaxy ships.
