Do we really not have a thread for Ramen? I know they've come up, but Search says it's always been in other threads.

Anyways, Ace had a live stream earlier and made a couple announcements that caught my eye.

A) I never watched Bravestarr, so have only been half paying attention to their versions of Bravestarr and Thirty/Thirty, but then they revealed this guy:

And my jaw dropped. Bad-ass just by himself and makes me want to go back and rethink the Marshal and 000 (I think they're calling the horse).

2) They announced their next tank based on the vehicle the Mauler was based on.

I don't know why they're calling it the Wolverine (maybe it'll get a sticker we can put on the other, more Wolverine-like tank). I dig that it has two driver positions and a spot in the turret for the commander like a tank should (based on what I saw watching Fury), but the MBT turret from their first tank won't fit on this chassis.

C) One of next years 5th Anniversay offerings will be a re-do of their 80s Commanders, only this time under the actual Centurions license. This time they're adding in the mechanisms from the original line that made the spinny wiggle effects on the gear while keeping to the 1/12 scale. Hopefully that means giving them a little height boost because reviews described them as being a little undertall for the scale.

He talked about other stuff I was less interested in, like a Smokey and the Bandit Trans Am, and the sewer play set. Still no forward motion on the Galaxy Rangers, though.

Looks like the “Super Msuk” street diorama is shipping! I got my fedex notice that two boxes weighing 36.82 lbs arrive tomorrow!

I'm sort of covetous of that street/sewer diorama. It looks dope and is smartly modular, but it's way too big for any shelf I have. I am curious to see if they continue the Dio-Ramen line, quietly hoping for a generic command base/mission control room, but I've no optimism that it'll be sized any better than the sewer.

I didn't get The Marshall, but I LOVE the look of that Hex. I still have my OG figures of the 2 of them, so I really should get some updated versions to go with the other 80s upgraded figures I've been amassing in my adult life.

Man, a Smokey & The Bandit style Trans-Am is one of the last 80s type vehicles I don't have in some form in 1/12th or 1/10th scale.

I've got the DST Delorean and K.I.T.T, Ramen's General Lee and the A-Team van, and the Has;ab Ecto-1, along with all of McFarlane's movie Batmobiles, and Mattel's 66 Barris version.

I have the sewer on order at BBTS, so hopefully that means they get it within the month, and I can just keep it in my POL until we get moved into the new house.

Dio-Ramen … I like that. Never seen that used before
Ace used it once in a livestream and I thought it was great. Somehow it never caught on, though. I keep waiting to see if it turns up on the packaging as an official line name.

Or maybe it sounds too much like committing to a line of dioramas that he's not willing to do. Or maybe I'm over-thinking it.

Ace did a little Facebook post giving a very brief future of his MASK (aka "Makina") line.

Just one sentence for each, but it seems like he'll be continuing the current 1:24 line, adding a 1:18 line AND maybe a 4" line? They're two group titles, so I'm wondering if he's thinking 3 3/4" and 4" as two separate lines?

But he also named a "Classified "Makina" and just said we can figure out what that means.

On the one hand, I'm ready to have some 6" MASK figures, but on the other I don't think I've ever seen an actual review for his other 6" figures like the Aces of Aviation. The post did include a grayscale of one of the figures for one of the lines (in context I'm thinking 1:18), but he has a teeny-tiny head presumably to fit the mask over. Hopefully he just goes swappable heads at 1:12 scale.

Also, it feels like Ramen has had the most success with its 1:12 vehicles, so I'm hopeful that he'll upscale the engineering from his tiny MASK cars to at least give me a Thunderhawk and a Condor.

Here's the full text of his post:

And so, we begin “the Lord’s scale”
After a hiatus from our initial announcement of MaKiNa 1/18 scale, we are carrying on and at the same time clarifying how we are working the lines.
There is
MaKiNa Labs - which is what we have done for Red Gullwing, the Gullwing, Great White and Mobula.
MaKiNa375 - 1/18 scale Overbite with Slavi as the first release
ShinMaKiNa - “Kenner sized” with Modern Engineering.
And Classified MaKiNa, hope the name gives enough hint.

Couple things:

First a nitpick. It is actually Ramen Toy, not Ramen Toys. I have no idea why he went with the singular when it clearly gets mentioned way more often than not as Ramen Toys.

Second. That Tex Hex with speeder/bike looks awesome. His work on the Bravestarr stuff looks incredible and I imagine this will look as good as the others.

Third. That "Wolverine" looks great as well, but I really dislike the black armour "skirt" because it detracts from the overall look (in my opinion). I actually don't mind the barrel being black if he wants to keep that to break up the colour a bit.

Anybody know where one could get a replacement power cable for a Ramen Toy set? I got the Super MUSK from BBTS and two of the five cables for the LED lights are faulty. BBTS doesn't have replacement parts, and I'm not breaking this thing down to return/exchange it over two wires I honestly won't be using often, but I would like the option to have the lights one. I did fill out a contact from on their website to see if they can help me out, but I'm guessing these are generic cables and I could possibly just order some, but I don't know what they're called to look them up.

Do you have a photo of the cables? IIRC the lights on the Racer were standard USB-C

It's not the power supply (which they actually don't provide), but the cable that goes from the LED to the junction box type device that includes the switch. It's a very thin red and black cable with a small, white connector at one end that connects to the box and a larger, black, connection at the other:

Ahh yeah. Oh dang what are those called? Shit I can see it in my mind's eye too... if I think of it I'll let you know.

I have never ever ever ever ever noticed that before.
I didn't either until it was pointed out and then of course I couldn't unsee it afterwards. Likes I said I don't know why he went with the singular when everyone seemingly has an inclination to see/use the plural.

It's kind of like those word exercises where they change/remove a word, or the spelling of a word, in a sentence/paragraph to show how the mind will fill in the expected structure of the sentence.
