One A Day 2.0 Day #435 - America Chavez

If I'm being honest, I'd really be more open to getting Aarkus/Vision in some kind of multipack. Hello Amazon are you there? I really want most of the Invaders and would love to see him included with the original Human Torch, Toro, Bucky redo, Whizzer, Ms. America, and Spitfire. I want them in one shot, not spread out over another decade. If you have to include Captain America and Submariner, fine, but the others need to be made. They are true legends in Marvel's storied past.
 
Ach. I missed my own guest spot. Definitely would pick up Arena, obviously. She would be a cool looking figure (yes, SHe. Despite armor’s appearance,Arena is a woman).

As for the golden age Vision, another definite Yes.
 
Weapon H is a hard pass, it really rubs me the wrong way in terms of character design to fudge traits or powers together like that.

Sometimes the notion can work, but it’s rare and very specific when it does. I remember when we were kids discussing ideas for our own superheroes and every idea was some variation on a shit unimaginative fusion, and I remember one guy in my class was super impressed with his idea for a character who had no skin but all his muscles were held together with adamantium stitches. So I guess you just had to push him into water and he’d die of cramps.

I get it, to the creator it must feel like when Ripley duct tapes the pulse rifle to the flame thrower, its coolness squared, but outside of really rare instances like that, stuff like Weapon H to me is like a hat on a hat. Or like giving Professor X Juggernaut’s helmet to protect him from sunburn.

I’m pretty satisfied I never need another Natasha alternate costume either, however if they made the Iron Widow suit she briefly had in Ultimates then I’d be kinda interested in that since the Ultimate Iron Man was pretty neat. Mostly with the A-list characters who have been made a few times I’m more interested in articulation upgrades and innovative engineering than cosmetic variations.

Would I buy? YES! Instant day #1 purchase
Which version? Classic hoodie, star logo t-shirt, shorts and sneakers is preferred, but the leggings version with the star logo or striped t-shirt versions are perfectly fine, too.

How in the world do we not have this figure yet? Popular character - check. Modern character - check. A much-needed diverse character - check. Yet another figure that has an MCU version but not the comic version. Maybe the comic version is a remnant of the old "comic vs. film IP confusion" scenario.

Definitely yes to Aarkus, I'm in for the Golden Age characters (if we ever get ANY of them).

Also yes to America Chavez. I'd like her look from the West Coast Avengers, since we're surprisingly close to finishing that team. I have the MCU version as a decent stand-in but I'd buy an official comic version for sure.
 
For sure yes for America Chavez. I can't bring myself tobuse the MCU version in my comic display.... even though its kind of close to one of her comic looks. I need an official comic-based figure of the charater in the line.
