I’d like to agree with this, although I’m not aware of Sabra’s emblematic nationalism being deconstructed over the years the way Cap’s has. I’d like to read that story.I don't see Sabra as representing the Israeli govermnent any more than Cap representing the U.S. government. As in, not at all. It's been explicitly confirmed time and time again that Cap holds up the ideals of his country, not any specific people.
Still, though: I don’t hold all Germans responsible for the actions of the Nazis, but I don’t know how comfortable I’d have been buying a toy of a German nationalist hero during the Holocaust.
Don’t want to get much further into the weeds than this.
