Muppets (including The Muppet Show, Sesame Street, Fraggle Rock)

As long as the line keeps selling and fans still have interest. The Figura Obscura Christmas Carol line, I know, is happening a lot slower than many fans would like, and who knows- may not give fans a full lineup at all. One could argue there's probably a little more cross appeal on Muppets stuff than original design stuff, but still.

What really interests is their plan to release stuff Palisades didn’t do early on. It’s a bold strategy, ( sort of reminds of Super 7 Simpsons gulp) Obviously there is characters & variants I’d pick up like Veterinarians Hospital or Gonzo in his sweater, Bobo & Bean Bunny but will most I’m not sure. But hey if they want to go deep I’ll gladly campaign for Louis Kazagger & Digit

The once a year release schedule is my concern. They really are moving slowly with both Muppets lines.
I am also a little concerned as they haven't mentioned some of the deeper cuts again that they showed early on, like Herry Monster, as coming soon.

I don't know if they are necessarily avoiding figures released from Palisades, just considering the Palisades line with their figure selection. I think the first 3 sets of figures (wave?) are a good example. Piggy is a popular character that most Palisades collectors would want updated. Gonzo is popular but not really a Palisades figure needing an update. I'm surprised NECA didn't go with the sweater look for him. Mahna Mahna and the Snowths are new.

I expect NECA to release the main characters along with more obscure ones. I'm guessing Bobo, Bean, Vets Hospital, and Walter will be made pretty early in the line. I would love for them to do Louis Kazagger and other obscure classic characters, but those don't seem as likely to me. With Kenny Durkin making amazing customs and uncertainty about which obscure characters NECA will make, I'm having trouble figuring out which characters I should customize.

I’d take this with a grain of salt but someone in a muppet facebook group I’m in DM’d Trevor to ask about the figures. Apparently the plan is Big Bird in the summer, Oscar in the Autumn, Herry & Sherlock in Winter & then Frazzle & the Grover/Fat Blue 2 pack early 2027. Now this could be what NECA are hoping for whether it happens is anyone’s guess. I imagine we might find out more at Comic Con.

Once a year makes sense for a holiday themed subline. Hopefully it has long legs so fans have something to look forward to for several Christmases to come.
I probably should have clarified, it’s the one release once a year that I’m concerned with. DST did Nightmare Before Christmas as Halloween and Christmas releases, but those were full waves. Maybe if this year’s release does well, they’ll increase the output for next Christmas.

Honestly, that release plan sounds pretty good to me, and makes a lot of sense. As long as it keeps selling long enough to get me a Cookie Monster, I'm good.
