Born on the cob
Couldn't find any thread for general, non-DC related McFarlane releases (sorry if I somehow missed it).
Posted because I found the entire wave of the new Avatar: Fire and Ash figures, minus Jake, at Target today- 1 Varang, 1 Neytiri, 2 Quaritch, and 1 red Platinum Quaritch. Was shocked; don't think I've ever found anything before even the pre-order date. Was expecting them to be register-locked, but checked out with no issue.
Took advantage of the sale and a couple promo gift cards and got Varang and red platinum Quaritch just because they looked the coolest, and something tells me the RP Quaritch will be harder to find than the regular Gold Label figure (even if I arguably like that look better). Wasn't crazy about the price- if the Way of Water figures had trouble selling at 20-ish, I don't necessarily see these moving at 35 or more, but at least he included some extra accessories; the swappable head really helps, and adds some much needed character; the bored, static faces from the earlier waves weren't all that exciting.
Hope he ends up making more characters, though something tells me this may be it. Seems to have abandoned the smaller World Of Pandora figures, unless he shows something off at NYCC this week.
