Hulk Deluxe/Retro Wave

I will happily switch a vote to Zzzaxx as soon as Dracula and other classic monsters roll off my top 10. I love him, and one of my first Hulk comics was Thunderbolt Ross getting possessed and becoming Thunderbolt Zzzaxx.

Well, speaking as the solitary sumbitch who’s been laying votes down for Zzzax for about a decade, I’m on board…

Hang in there. I campaigned for Jaxson in the Black Series, quite a while before Hasbro finally made him. Never give up hope. Zzzax is far likelier candidate to turn up eventually.

I'm kinda confused why we didn't just get a full on retro carded Hulk series. Either based on 1997 or on Classics. Or just any Hulk wave in general. We have several more standard Hulks to get through, a few She-Hulk costumes I'd love (I'd really like her look from the 90s Doc Samson miniseries, but we do need her cartoon and early 2000s looks), vested Samson, U-Foes, Zzzax, etc.

But my most wanted Hulk-related figure is Moonstone, especially now that we have Samson. I figure her Meteorite look will come first, though.

The crazy thing is that my list of wants when it comes to marvel legends is now so diminished in terms of my avengers, x-men and spider-man lists that I’m pretty much down to needing a few Hulk figures now. Mostly figures from Peter David’s run

Just tossing this out there, but doesn't Hulk have the worst Rogue's gallery in terms of how many are really noteable foes, distinctly related to him? Leader, Abomination, Ross, & Red Hulk are the only main characters that come to mind.

U-Foes, Bi-Beast, Harpy Armageddon/Trauma, Zzzax are pretty much his, but aren't really noteable to most casual Hulk followers. Absorbing Man and Wendigo have faced him many times, but Sorby has fought many others, and Wendigo I'd argue is used more for X-Men/Wolverine now.

This is true but I think that mostly stems from the fact that Hulk is a brute with super strength, so any character that hulk has to go up against has to have strength that rivals his own. Without that threshold, he doesn’t have an antagonist that he can justifiably punch. It’s the same reason why The Flash doesn’t have a ton of good villains. Outside of The Rogues—who are absolute washouts; the only characters that are on Barry’s level are characters like Reverse Flash or Zoom. because in order to beat the flash you need another speedster. But if you litter the entire book with Speedsters, it lessens Barry’s impact in the book. His allies fit into the same kind of paradox

Since I mentioned Armageddon or Trauma, for those that don't know them, here they are. I would LOVE figures of these badasses. Arma is Trauma's dad.

I'm in agreement that new figures for Zzzax and Moonstone are long overdue. I hope we'll see the Ringmaster, the U-Foes, and the Leader in his orange-and-black suit with the "Jiffy Pop" brain sooner than later too. Aside from a new Deluxe classic Hulk with a better body mold and alternate heads and a Frankenstein/Kirby-esque "The Avengers" #1 Hulk with the purple trunks, this is my #1 Hulk I want to see made into a new figure the most - Professor Hulk in his brown jumpsuit. If Hasbro makes this version of the Big Guy, I'll buy up three of them!
