RIGHT?! Holy shit, preparation is a shocking concept.
I'm sacrificing packaging by opening a bunch more figuresTo honor the Veterans today, you should sacrifice youtube.
Seriously. I used to be all about Shartimus...but found Robo and have jumped ship. There is another I watch when I'm bored at night, and he DROPS everything. At least 6 times a review. Weapons. Figures. Helmets. It's like he lubes up with Crisco before going on camera.I bounced right the hell off of toy YouTube until Robo, who seems to have independently discovered the concepts of planning what he's going to day BEFORE he says it and not breathing like a post orgasmic buffalo directly into the mic.
I still miss Toyfare, and their “Twisted Toy Theater” I looked forward to their issues every month. There’s just something different about the online reviews (apart from the obvious). They just don’t have that same feel.In all my years I don't think I have every looked at youtube figure reviews, just never crossed my mind. When Toyfare stopped being published, part of me died and never wanted to look at reviews again.
This is a wonderful way to put it. Yes, I will look at toy reviews hoping to find one detail like joints, scale, etc, so I will mute and scrub through looking to see if they show what I want to see. But yeah, his reviews I would watch start to finish and have the sound on as well.Robo is one of only two toy reviewers I watch with the sound on.
I'm the opposite. I spend most of my 'screen time' on YouTube. So many phenomenal channels doing great work on whatever you're interested in. I've got my HEMA/History channels, my politics channels (mostly Some More News), etc. Toy channels are actually the ones I watch the least. Just not much reason to unless there's something specific I want to see/know. Although I do follow D-Amazing. He's great. And Robo, of course.Secret Galaxy is pretty much the only reason I go on youtube beyond movie trailers anymore.
Sad part with many YouTubers is it goes to the side of the review table in a pile. Evidenced many times over at many channels when they mention "I want to compare Spidey to that Batman but I don't know where I - oh he's right here under the table buried under last months He-Man reviews."not me talking to Robo during his videos going "where TF is that toy gonna go? WHERES IT GONNA GO?" because space is an issue
