I’d prefer not to do most reviewers the service of clicking their videos especially if the point is to get views, not to inform. I will only willingly watch Robo’s videos, but everyone else can rot. He puts real effort in. JHernandez too. Love their style.

Ooh, not touching that- half a damn hour? I'm the most boresome, long winded C.H.U.D. I know and I couldn't manage that.
I realize I am the wrong audience for about 87% of YouTube at this point. I find myself chanting "please don't start talking" under my breath when I try a new channel for the first time, and I would rather eat glass than listen to a text-to-speech narrator. I'm acutely aware I could not do better myself, I just wish there was a touch more polish and forethought in the peeps who try.
I realize I am the wrong audience for about 87% of YouTube at this point. Speaking of Sharky... I worked on a documentary series over twenty years ago where we interviewed detectives and one in particular was named Sharky. We met him in White Plains, but he was retired and drove up from Florida to do the interview and walk us through some of the crimescenes for that episode. He REALLY liked our cameraman. When we took him to dinner, and the cameraman excused himself to go to the bathroom, Sharky followed after a moment. He apparently went into the bathroom, saw the cameraman at the urinal, said "Looks like you have the right idea!" and stood next to him at the next urinal. Didn't even open his pants to urinate, just put his hands on his hip and stared at the cameraman's dick. Cameraman just resigned himself to that then hurried through washing his hands to come tell me and the producer about but of course Sharky was right behind him and he had to wait until the hotel.
The next morning we meet him at a park and he's at the far end so we have a good minute or so of walking toward each other, but I grabbed the producer's arm to stop her from walking so the cameraman heads toward Sharky alone. When they get close Sharky says "heeeeeeey big guy!" The cameraman turned to share a glance with me then realized I'm several feet behind him and mouthed "you motherfucker" before shaking hands with Sharky where he apparently gave the cameraman some finger strokes.

I found what helps with that is to look at subjects you only have a passing interest in, that way you have less a chance at being annoyed at the approach (or lack there of) of a particular subject. I like watching competent people do competent things. Like one channel, Hand Tool Rescue, the guy finds and repairs really old beat up tools. Minimal if any talking, and is just his hands fixing and cleaning and assembling. Another is Vice Grip Garage. This guy will get a one way ticket to somewhere, buying an old beat up car sight unseen, and has to fix it and get it going if he wants to get home. I'm not a gear head by any means. It was my job for a long time, but nothing I ever did for a hobby, but seeing folks use there brains is refreshing when so many people nowadays seem to actively avoid using theirs.

I would say everyone is the wrong audience for 99% of YouTube. There's just so much shit on there and most of it, no matter who you are, isn't going to be stuff you'll want to watch.
Also, not being able to do better is irrelevant. I'm reasonably sure I could not perform an incredible guitar solo, but that doesn't mean I have to listen to people who also can't just because I can't. That's the whole point of me NOT being the one to do it; I want to hear someone that CAN do it.
At no point did this story go the direction I expected.

My friend years ago had a replica Sephiroth sword from FF7. It was huge. He was like, 6'2" or something. Fairly tall. And he couldn't unsheath it without help. Those kinda swords I never found practical. But I'd have to imagine if they were being worn, it would have to be for transportation purposes. Actually unsheathing the thing would require removing it and using 2 hands while leaving the sheath/scabbard behind or on the ground. And then the thing is fuckin heavy anyway. Not great for fighting. It looked cool. Iirc those big swords were only used for ceremony, not actual combat. But, I don't have a degree in history so I only know alot of surface stuff I've learned along the way.
