G.I. Joe Classified One-A-Day Beamish-Style Figure Poll - #86 - Red Scream (Extreme)/Ghost Bear (Valor Vs Venom)

Meh.
That one would be a hard sell for me. I have virtually no memory of the character and his design is just 'dude in lab coat.' There's really nothing here to grab me. Maybe if Joes were like 25% cheaper. But at current pricing, this is exactly the kind of stuff I just ignore not out of active dislike, but just because there's not enough meat there for the cost.

They would HAVE to spice him up. If nothing else, a crazy masked alt head, but maybe a cooler outfit under the coat as well.
Just put him in a two-pack with a classic-colors Serpentor with a bigger cobra hood and I'll buy the damn thing immediately.

Ok hear me out. Have V7 of Dr Mindbender

Now change give him an alt Dr Venom head, so he can cosplay as Dr Venom when the brainwave scanner went bonkers and uploaded part of his memories into Mindbender like he did a little while ago in the comics. That way you don't have to have a boring lab coat guy, but still the character with an excuse why he loos the way he does.

I will take any winter-gear figures at this point. I think a winter set-up is going to end up being my main Joe display since I can't imagine I'll ever have room for more than two vehicles, and both the ones I have on order are arctic vehicles.

How the hell did I get to 48 years old as someone WHO WORKED IN FILM and never knew Cary Grant's full name was Archibald?

Anyway, 100% yes with Dr. Venom because I'm all about those old school random comics characters who never got figures except in like, Super7 stuff (JUSTICE 4 KWINN). To the point I keep thinking about getting that FMF mad professor guy to be a stand-in for Venom, but the only thing that holds me back is I'd rather spend 27 bucks on a figure from Hasbro that is the actual character than I 40 bucks on a character who just looks like him from another seller.

I don't know but it feels really obscure if that helps. I remember reading a review of Fish Called Wanda where the critic said "and John Cleese is NO Cary Grant" so I had to find out what that meant.

I do too, then don't for the same reason. I want him, especially if they spice him up, but not $40 worth

and John Cleese is NO Cary Grant
Wow that’s fucking unfair!
Cleese gives an excellent comedic performance in AFCW very much in the vein of classic Grant comedies!!
I’ll defend AFCW until the end of my days, it’s my absolute favorite comedy film after Young Frankenstein.

Also Lord Archibald Craven from The Secret Garden is not evil. But that’s even MORE obscure.

Oh massive agree on most of that. I'd rank Wanda higher but both of those are in my top ten of all time without question. And my favorite Grant is Arsenic & Old Lace. The summer I was eleven, I watched that a couple dozen times.
