Day 237 - Destro - (Sigma 6) (5/7/26)
Different Versions Of Characters We've Already Gotten Week continues with another Destro!

WHat on earth was happening during the Sigma era in terms of toy design? I don't hate the idea of Destro in a coat but that figure is horrific.

Cocaine was too expensive? They'd moved on to horse tranquilizers?

While I like some of the design elements for Sigma Six Destro, the overall execution was terrible.

Probably my favourite part of the figure is the head. I love that squared off top, ala Frankenstein. I would probably still pick up a Classified version but it might be a tough call.

This design is much better expressed in the “concept art” Rise of Cobra movie figure.

But no, I wanna call it 'luck of the draw', but I do think they found the least sensible people at Hasbro for that era of the Joe team.

I was fond of the designs, if anything just because it was something different. I don't mind the proportions, as that style choice popped up in quite a few things during that time. Like they watch "Small Soldiers" down there at Hasbro and thought it wasn't such a bad idea. Lanard even made a few in the style for The Corps!

But back to Destro. What I like: the jacket with collar, metal chest. What I don't like: The color, too Cobra Commander and not enough black.

Day 238 - Alley Viper - (Post-RAH) (5/8/26)
Continuing with Different Versions Of Characters We've Already Gotten Week, another version of the Alley Viper from 1997!

We kind of got him already with the Trench Viper. However another go with the Cobra shield would be great. However I always thought the Cobra shield should be exaggerated a bit for use. It should be a bit larger and the hood tails should be elongated to allow for a larger (more coverage) shield even though it doesn't quite fit with the Cobra logo theme.

Yes, I like all Alley Vipers. I like to imagine that they tell standard Troopers and Vipers that they can't storm a beach because thats not their job, alleys only.
