Always on display

So I've been living in a place for a while now wherein I have very limited space to display figures, I make it work by cycling figures in and out depending on my whims, but there is one shelf on which I keep the figures I want to always have on display. It's mostly figures that represent major collections or movies/shows/comics that are important to me, though one is there purely for sentimental reasons. Here is that shelf:

(The purely sentimental figure is the Playmo Space robot as I've had it as long as I can remember and it's my only extant childhood toy in the collection)

I'm posting it here for two reasons;

1) I'm moving to a new place this summer where I'll be able to display my whole collection, so this shelf is becoming obsolete because they will all be on permanent display with their corresponding collections, so I wanted to preserve it here for posterity.

2) I'm wondering if any of y'all have a similar shelf or display, or if I'm alone in this particular eccentricity.

My display space is also limited, but not limited to one shelf. If I had to knock it down to one shelf, I'd have to think pretty hard about what figures I'd keep on display. But for sure, there would be:

Optimus Prime and Megatron
He-Man and Skeletor
The four Ninja Turtles (I really can't choose just one, but Leo would be it if I could)
Luke Skywalker and Darth Vader

If I could go beyond ten:
Spider-Man
Flint and Lady Jaye
Lion-O and Mumm-Ra
Woody and Buzz
Voltron
Kermit the Frog

Not sure which figures specifically would represent each, but if space was limited, I'm sure I couldn't go too crazy with sizes.

I like the idea of representing with mostly duos! I'm lucky enough that currently I have a few shelves to be able to show off rotating displays (right now I've got the Sakai Turtles with Usagi, Jada Street Fighter and Marvel Legends Inhumans up) as well as my "always on display" shelf.

Honestly I can not wait to be able to fully display my 2600+ toy collection all at the same time. I'm gonna take so many damn pictures!

I rotate out what I'm displaying to fit my mood or based on whatever new thing I'm currently most interested in (i.e. Joes come back out when I'm finding myself buying a lot of Joes). But I don't think there's anything the stays out on display no matter what. Maybe the exception to that is the two Kickstarter Spawns. Only because I treat those more like statues - they're way up on top of two different bookshelves downstairs, where I otherwise wouldn't even display any action figures.

That's how I treat my V.A.M.P., it's in a spot that I don't usually display figures and it's been there since Hasbro sent it to me and will always be on display in some fashion. Just got the Stinger recently super-cheap from Ross and I've been scrambling for a place to put it in the meantime.

The top shelf on my living room bookcase is always dedicated to joshi figures and I've got more joshi stuff on my dresser (including Asuka, Kairi, and Iyo on WrestleMania ring carts, the classiest vehicle that anyone can occupy). Most other stuff gets rotated, but I pretty much always have an Elektra somewhere on display, my custom Count Vertigo, and a few boxed figures (like the SDCC Superhero Girls Katana and the S.H. Figuarts Sadako from Ringu).
