DCUC was way easier to get than McFarlane DC Multiverse but harder to get than mainline ML is now. I bought the line brick and mortar first and then a lot online through like BBTS and MattyCollector. The SDCC exclusives could be hard to get, and they specifically had add-on’s like Gleek and...

I don't collect those lines. I did collect DCUC, though. As much trouble as I thought it was collecting that line, it was 100x easier than McFarlane the last two years. Hoping that Mattel's DC line is readily available through Amazon and "fan channel."

These sets sell out extremely quickly. Wasn't able to get the Spider-Man one or the F4 one. Guess I'm not collecting these. Not willing to pay over retail or chase them down.

Same. They sell out ridiculously fast. It's cheaper, though, to get the case and sell the double packed figures than to have to buy the platinums individually, which tend to be at least $60 before shipping.

Those seems like really good discounts on the TMNT stuff. No discounts on the first two waves, though. I'm guessing those are really popular. Also, not a big enough discount yet on the Party Wagon I'd say.

Yeah, I can estimate the amount of money I've actually spent on items in the last two decades of collecting, but I actually think the value of the items if I tried to rebuy them on eBay would be significantly more.

I think the issue becomes what if you have a lot of things that are individually worth a couple hundred bucks and that collectively add up to a large amount like $50-$100K, which is probably the case for many long-time collectors.

Thanks for all the replies! We brought it up with State Farm when getting a quote for homeowners insurance and they didn't seem to know how to handle it. Didn't want it to hold up getting that quote, because it's critical for a mortgage. I'll look into the collector's insurance link above...

I also had this issue. My credit card isn't showing any charges, though. My membership expired yesterday. When I go to add a figure to check out now, it's showing they credit the shipping and my membership shows up as active still. Not sure what's going on. I do plan to keep the membership...
