Ready to see that Akuma... also intrigued to see how they render him. I'll be perfectly happy if he uses the same body as Ryu and Ken given it's more or less the same sprites, but if they make him a big boy I'll be fine with that too. Really for me it's all about the face.

Love that Authority run up until Hitch and Ellis step off. I was... shall we say... less fond of Millar's writing. Though, if you like those, check out Global Frequency. Same vein (also Ellis writing) but pulling from some other non-superhero inspirations. We *almost* got an adaptation of it...

Yeah, Stormwatch was doing some interesting things. I think if I went back a lot of it probably hasn't aged well (and I might be able to more easily identify the stuff Ellis was almost certainly paying homage to), but at the time it felt really different and new.

This is a wild swerve but this reminds me of the time when basically every main member of Stormwatch was *canonically* killed because of an outbreak of xenomorphs from Alien. Obviously it was all retconned away once Wildstorm moved to DC, but that was the most consequential franchise crossover...

As a follow-up, they got back to me right away, and it's basically what I expected.

I should say, I'm willing to give a little grace on this. BBTS has been stand up in the past for me, honoring lower prices on things that should have been put up for higher. So if $2 happens here, it's still well under the amount I've saved with them in other instances.

My guess is it has to do with when I preordered perhaps. That is weird, though... they're coming in at the same time so presumably they have the same tariffs applied. I'm inquiring about it.

"No line wasted" is exactly it. Just astonishing discipline. Never gets out in front of his skis, never loses focus on the big picture. Good stuff.

7" scale is just a non-starter for me. Wish them the best with the line, but being so out of scale with most of the other lines out there (or at least the ones I collect) makes it an easy pass.

Paul Smith is the top of my list, especially as I get older. Just pure meat and potatoes good storytelling. Does the work and gets out of the way. He's not as flashy as some, but I think he's pound for pound one of the best.

Random question about Strong Guy. I've seen folks talking about how the barbell has a bendy wire in the middle. Is that confirmed? I assumed form the photos it's just molded in that bent shape and the one shot where it looks straight is just it rotated to the side.

IIRC he was supposed to be there this month and now he's slated to arrive in September. Either way I've got him pre-ordered and he's slightly cheaper than everybody else.

If you check the instagram, also looks like he might be doing some fantasy skeleton pirates of his own next year: I'm not super interested in this from him, but it does imply to me he's caught on to what I was saying earlier that his lines need to get weirder and more eye-catching.
