    NECA - General Thread

Yeah, NECA is a company that I really want to root for. When they're good, they're quite good. But when they're bad, it can be painful, and it's even harder to stick up for them sometimes. I haven't had many experiences with their store- one was great, one was pretty disastrous. And I shudder to...

    Star Wars Black Series

The only thing worse than a Joker fanboy that's single is a couple that's based their relationship around the thought that Joker and Harley are this generation's Romeo and Juliet. And yes, I'm sure there's a throughline there somewhere. I love Ledger's performance as much as the next...

Are you thinking of the Dok Ondar figure? The big Ithorian/Hammerhead guy? Or is there another one?

    Star Wars Black Series

I usually don't read reviews for anything until after I've seen or played it. Not that I've ever been a person who lets the opinions of others sway me- some of my family's favorite movies are critical and commercial failures, but they were the only ones we could afford on DVD or on the few...

    The Chatty Pointless Thread

I remember hearing when the 2nd Hellboy movie came out, and supposedly Toys R Us refused to stock the toys if they had his full name on the cover, since they didn't want kids to see the word "hell", so that's why the packaging said "HB II". Ironic, if true, since the actual figures of Hellboy...

DC 1/6th scale thread (Mondo, Hot Toys , Sideshow Collectibles, DC Direct)

Sideshow is usually pretty good with returns if you change your mind. Worse comes to worse, the aftermarket on Hot Toys is usually pretty good. May not get exactly what you paid for it, but there's always folks out there willing to buy.

    The Chatty Pointless Thread

I feel like it's a somewhat normal pipeline, actually. You have this thing that catches on that's generally appealing to all audiences, then you have someone that says "What if we did this, but darker?" That thing becomes popular for a bit, then when it starts to decline, they pivot back to a...

    NECA - General Thread

Good point that I'd never really thought of before. I'm certainly someone that inadvertantly buys into the hype when someone declares something as "the scariest thing since the last super scary thing". You'd think that I'd have learned my lesson by now- it's never as scary as they say, but alas...

    Star Wars Black Series

I'd say give Acolyte a chance too. Especially if you go into it with low expectations; not everything holds up to much questioning/scrutiny, but it does take the "from a certain point of view" thing that Star Wars loves to do and runs with it. Who knows if a lot of the other questions folks have...

    McFarlane DC Multiverse

Thanks for the reminder to be vigilant. I'm certainly guilty of throwing the term around from time to time when attempting to explain some of my weird quirks, tics, or preferences, but there's never any harm meant by it. I totally agree though that it's overused, and I hate that it's become even...

I saw Cursed Child back around the time it first opened, luckily before JK succumbed to the black mold. I know it's undergone an immense amount of changes since (apparently just cutting things out, though, not adding or fixing anything), and it suffers from a lot of the same things that Wicked...

    ML Secret Wars

Totally forgotten I'd ordered Iceman, but he just showed up in a hilariously large box. You'd think he was released ages ago, with how dusty the top of his bubble was. I'd mostly ordered him for the ice effects- has anyone tried using them on the Juggernaut wave Iceman? I know that's a terribly...

Been a minute since I've seen the film, but wasn't his role cut? I think he was supposed to be one of the ghosts in the prologue or something, but it got cut out. Or is he in the final film and I'm misremembering? The man is no stranger to singing, though. His symphonic metal albums are...

    NECA - General Thread

I'm always surprised there isn't more of a focus on the Final Girls as well. Some of them have just as a big a fanbase, if not moreso, than the killers themselves. You can't tell me an Ultimate Sidney Prescott wouldn't sell. Hell, I'd give NECA my money right now, sight unseen, if they could...

    McFarlane DC Multiverse

Can you tell that to my dad's side of the family, who seem to see collecting as a refusal to grow up. Don't get me wrong, I do refuse to grow up, but for entirely different reasons than collecting. 😇 OCD is, like you said Ace, a very complicated thing. I think, if anything that ol' dhunter does...

Oh yeah, Sweeney Todd is a great musical. I quite like the film version too, even if it took its fair share of liberties and the cast weren't the strongest singers. It at least had its fair share of panache and style to keep me invested, and didn't shy away from the gruesomeness of the musical...

My Target got in the normal Art the Clown the other day, and while part of me was waiting for the Terrifier 2 version, I went ahead and grabbed him. Like I said, I've never seen and never will see the movies, but I recognize what an icon he's become, so he feels important to have on the horror...

    Hasbro possibly doing Tron?

That was my thinking too- they may just cancel the Legacy figures, which would be a shame. The movie is a fun guilty pleasure, and I think some figures would be fun. But if they were too afraid to commit to an entire Indiana Jones movie because of its reception, I can totally see them chickening...

Despite what it may seem from my rant, I didn't hate part 2. All Oz-related things hold a very special place in my and my family's hearts; I was just hoping it would better address the issues I, and many, have had with it from the beginning. There's just a lot that doesn't necessarily hold up to...

Replying to this in the movie thread, but I agree with a lot of the points you make, Schizm. (classic joshsquash overly long post incoming) The Oz franchise in general is one of great importance to my family for a variety of reasons, so I've always had my qualms with Wicked, as much as I do...

Same here. Sometimes my cat will meow at me with hungry eyes, and all I can say is "I'm sorry, bud, but you know Daddy is saving for his little plastic people." I said the same thing to my landlord once and he had the gall to threaten me with an eviction notice. Some people, I tell ya.

    The Complaint Thread

It's amazing how easy it all becomes when you just treat the person like a human being and just ask them what they'd prefer, rather than tiptoeing around them or doubling down on your ignorance if/when caught in a mistake. I have to wonder how many conflicts could've been avoided over the...
