    Quitting/putting collecting on pause

“Either you collecting do ‘yes’ or collecting do ‘no’. Collecting do ‘guess so’ [makes squish gesture] just like grape.” I think a lot of us are either at or nearing the “guess so” point with respect to collecting. We’re not seeing the value in it that we used to, but we’re not ready to let...

I’m so confused. Has Zatanna gone up for preorder yet?

He only mentioned having ducks on the pond. He didn’t say anything about geese.

And the winner of the 2025 Best Figure of the Year Award goes to...

😂 An instant classic… …and perhaps unintentionally (or perhaps not), a really good barometer. Most of my Marvel Legends purchases this year simply checked a box, but there is one that brought me a modicum of joy. Husk. I love Paige, she was in my Top Ten most wanted, it’s her first time in...

    McFarlane DC Multiverse

I preordered Ice. Flash is tempting, but truth be told, I don’t have much of a connection to DC in the 90s, and I’m more interested in characters that don’t get figures very often. My McFarlane collection is more of a random assortment of characters than a cohesive representation of the DC...

You Ever Get Tired of This?

This is what I’ve always done except I do love my brown packing paper. Balled up pieces of brown packing paper are excellent at filling space and keeping items from moving around. A little goes a surprisingly long way. I have a little blurb in my eBay descriptions that says “I don’t entertain...

    JADA TOYS General Thread

Fred was a self centered dick with a good heart…so I could relate to him. I’m definitely in for these. I was born in ‘66, so Jada can hit me up with all the Hanna-Barbera goodness they care to offer.

L No. It’s comic accurate (Rebirth) but I think it makes her look like a floozy (as they used to say back in the day).

    General Marvel Legends

I’m one of the weird exceptions to this rule. I don’t maintain a display. I found doing so to be tedious. I’m much happier just pulling out my bins on a regular basis and going through them when I want to see my figures, although I will have a few on my nightstand at any given time. At the...

    MAFEX Marvel Figures

I will never understand why producing action figures within a reasonable time frame is so much more difficult for Medicom than it is for any of their competitors. Rogue has been especially frustrating.

You Ever Get Tired of This?

I’m married 34 years, and I only remember my wife commenting ONCE on my collecting. It was on my birthday when I received DCUC 9 Black Canary, Green Arrow, and Wildcat in the mail. I was putting Chemo together and out of nowhere, she laughed and said “That has to be the most ridiculous...

    CCXP25 Brazil Dec 4th - 7th 2025

Really? We have that beautiful new She-Hulk sculpt, and this is what they decide to do for Red She-Hulk? At least I still have the near perfect (for the time and scale) Marvel Universe 3.75” version.

    General Marvel Legends

In my example, I bought the Savage Land three pack, but I only wanted Shanna. I had already made arrangements to sell Rogue and Sauron to other collectors before the set even arrived. So in my mind, I only purchased Shanna. Rogue and Sauron were simply means to that end. If you bought the...

You Ever Get Tired of This?

I think it depends on your era. A bare minimum X-Men display for me would be Cyclops, Wolverine, Storm, Colossus, and Nightcrawler. They were the mainstays from GSX 1 to Uncanny 143. Now if you want to add every character that appeared during that run that has a semi-accurate Marvel Legends...

You Ever Get Tired of This?

I netted about 2/3 of my money back on my collection of 1/6 figures. I think I had just under 30 of them. It was a pandemic thing, but I soon grew frustrated with the cost, the space they took up, and the durability (or lack thereof) of the soft goods, especially pleather.

You Ever Get Tired of This?

As someone who has first hand experience with all three of those habits, I’ve found that the only true antidote is to have very specific (and achievable) financial goals. Otherwise, why wouldn’t you spend your money on those things? Food, frapps, and figures rock!

    General Marvel Legends

The Scream Man’s list is a lot closer to what a typical year of Marvel Legends purchases used to look like for me. I miss those days. I refer to them as the “Cool Toy Days”. I think I made a semi-conscious decision that I’m only buying 616 figures moving forward, and only 616 figures of...

I couldn’t agree more. Somewhere between one Batman on the market and a few hundred lies the sweet spot, and it’s probably a lot closer to one than a few hundred.

You Ever Get Tired of This?

I think this is the underlying issue for many of us, and it’s not always easy to recognize, It’s simply a function of time. The longer we’ve been collecting, the more prevalent the issue becomes. Look at DC as an IP. How many different DC lines and sub-lines have there been over the last...
