    General Marvel Legends

They’ve seen, heard, and been called far worse. By the time you see them again, you’ll probably all just have a good chuckle over it.

    McFarlane DC Multiverse

I see no reason why two DC collector lines can’t co-exist, especially if Mattel goes with the ML scale. I don’t see McFarlane “losing” business to Mattel or vice versa. I think it’s more like a Venn diagram with a circle of McFarlane collectors, a circle of Mattel collectors and some overlap...

    Skurge the Executioner BAF Wave

That’s Warbow? Yikes. Unless it’s just the lighting or the photography, the greens on the figure are way too dark.

    Skurge the Executioner BAF Wave

I’m Gen X, but only by two years. My childhood was more Boomer than Gen X. I was a Mego and 60s reruns on the UHF channel kid. By the time most of you were playing with GI Joe, He-Man, and Super Powers toys, I was busy fumbling opportunities to lose my virginity.

    Skurge the Executioner BAF Wave

I’m holding out for a 1/12 garden hose that the figures in the line can drink out of. That’s got to be cheaper to tool than including a 1/12 bottled water with each figure.

    Skurge the Executioner BAF Wave

How does “It stops TODAY” sound? I just returned Outback Storm and X-Men 97 Sunfire to Target and cancelled all of my Executioner BAF preorders except for one: Warbow. As I mentioned in a previous post, I had promised Warbow to an old friend and former collector that has a lot of nostalgia...

    Skurge the Executioner BAF Wave

Was that the Mr. Hyde BAF wave with four MCU Shang Chi figures, a GamerVerse Captain America, and the hologram Iron Man? God, I can’t even remember if I bought the entire wave and sold off all of the figures except Iron Man or if I got Mr. Hyde loose from Dorkside before the wheels came off.

    Skurge the Executioner BAF Wave

That’s certainly part of it, but the bigger issue for me at the moment is the number of figures I’ve accumulated that I no longer want and that are taking up space that I no longer have. I’d like nothing better than to pack them up and donate them to Goodwill or the Salvation Army, but I feel...

    Skurge the Executioner BAF Wave

THIS is where I’m trying to get to. This is where I’m going to HAVE to get to if I want to stay in the game.

    Skurge the Executioner BAF Wave

If I do follow through with my purchase of the entire wave (sans Wolverine), Warbow will go to an old friend who sold off his collection years ago but recently picked up Rom and Crystar. I was too old for the toys and never interested in the comics myself, but that’s his jam. What this is...

    Skurge the Executioner BAF Wave

Speaking strictly from my own perspective, I think this is more about realizing that something that has brought you so much joy over the last 25+ years is gradually becoming an albatross. First World problems and all that, but it is a little unnerving, especially when being considered “middle...

    Skurge the Executioner BAF Wave

Yeah, I’m really struggling, even with $180 after tax and shipping for the six needed to build Skurge. At least I have plenty of time to cancel if I change my mind. It’s weird though. It’s really not about the figures themselves, or even the money. It’s more of a “Are we really going to...

Probably. And of course, I’ll like that one better. 😉

    Skurge the Executioner BAF Wave

Thanks, NORM! I couldn’t find Iron Man or Warbow either! $180 though…Ay Caramba! Maybe the slowdown in BAF waves isn’t such a bad thing after all. 😜

BAF Waves - Themed or Mixed?

Mixed. I’m a big believer in the “Something for Everyone” approach. I don’t mind waves with a general theme. For example, an “X-Men” themed wave can support a broad range of characters, but an “Age of Apocalypse” themed wave is too “all or nothing” for my tastes.

    McFarlane DC Multiverse

Well, now I feel like an ass. I checked last night to see what time the DC Multiverse figures were going up and saw it was 9:00 am EDT. So when I strolled in there after 9:30 and placed my order, I thought “Oh, good…plenty for everyone!” I didn’t realize that many of you were expecting them...

    McFarlane DC Multiverse

I casually surfed over to Walmart at 9:35 am EDT and preordered Red Tornado and Batgirl. This is how preorders should be, not these instant sellouts if you get busy at work and forget to be at the designated place at the designated time. I passed on Atom Smasher and Spectre. I like my COIE...

Werewolf by Night. “Jack Russel”. I read my first comic featuring Werewolf by Night over 50 years ago, and I just now got that joke,

    Skurge the Executioner BAF Wave

Apologies if I missed this, but do any of the figures in this wave NOT come with a BAF piece? I’m weighing the cost/benefit of buying all of the figures needed to build the Executioner, or just getting what I want loose (probably more expensive, but no unwanted figures to unload).

    General Marvel Legends

I have nothing but love for Hasbro today. Completing the Inhumans is huge. I’m even excited about the Black Bolt and Medusa upgrades.

    General Marvel Legends

My local Target went from embarrassingly weak to surprisingly chic overnight. Weapon X, Outback Storm, MTG battle damaged Spidey, MTG Anti-Venom, remnants of X-Men 97, and McF Sandman were on the pegs and shelves. I walked out with Storm, Sunspot, and Sandman while thinking about this...

    General Marvel Legends

I plan on paring down to… All New, All Different Outback Blue and Gold (MAFEX) Astonishing …as far as X-Men proper teams are concerned. Believe it or not, that still leaves me with a boatload of ML X-Men figures to sell off. I love Rogue, but I don’t need four different figures of her in...

    General Marvel Legends

I’ve had the same hesitation to pull the trigger on new purchases, but unlike you, I haven’t found that “Wow” item yet that’s making me want to jump back in. For all of McFarlane’s faults (and there are many), he can throw a figure out there like Stephane Brown from Batgirls and get me all...

    Square Enix Bring Arts

I have some of the earlier Bring Arts figures from Kingdom Hearts, NieR Automatica, and Xenogears. I like them, but between the high price points and not being all that familiar with much of the source material, I dropped out pretty quickly. The Play Arts Kai Final Fantasy VII Remake Cloud...

    McFarlane DC Multiverse

I think the average Target store/department manager and the average collector would both be happy to never set eyes on each other again, but corporate wants our money.
