ML Secret Wars

Falcon and Magik are an easy "yes" for me... I can probably be talked into Constrictor... and yeah mixed on absorbing Man... I mean... the BaF version is also in scale with the rest of the oversized Wrecking Crew we already have... but I do hate those ball jointed hips... on the other hand... I can't really see them in my current display so... maybe not?
 
Fantastic to get a classic Falcon at last!
Don't mind the black on Daredevil.
Gonna play the waiting game on Constrictor and Absorbing Man. I like them, but at today's prices I just can't do it the way I used to.
I basically look at every fan stream the following way. First what do I like. Second cut that in half and purchase the half that is left. The cut half is a wait for a sale or clearance.

Classic Falcon is very cool to finally get.

Absorbing Man is one of the highlights! Finally a good sized nicely articulated Absorbing Man. Great physique here. I wanted a regular version of him. Some extra swappable powered up limbs would have been cool though.

Constrictor finally gets an update! Great character worthy of a redo. His tendrils look very cool. Another highlight of the wave for me.

Daredevil—very nice looking version of him.

Magik— Figure looks cool. She’s in Marvel Rivals, and my daughters and I have been playing that game a lot. I have the Walgreens version, but I think I will get his one, too.

Symbiote Spidey— Unique one-off look. I bet it could make for a lot of cool photo shoots. Not sure I need it though.

Overall, I love the wave. But! I wish we got Volcana. Or a classic armor Dr. Doom.

What is the deal with his eyebrows? I razor shave my head and I've had the intrusive thought about doing the eyebrows before. Did Creel just give in to the dark voices?
 
Mid transformation Spider-Man does nothing for me.
Daredevil looks pretty good! I have my MAFEX DD though, so I'm set. Also, WTF is up with only giving him one fist? Is Hasbro like, "Go ahead! Burn down our HQ. We're moving anyway."
Absorbing Man looks good. I would have liked some extra metal/wood arms but I'm glad I sold off the BAF last year. I'll buy this.
Magik looks okay. Not much interest from me.
Falcon was not something I was really looking forward to. He's done so well though, I might pick him up.
Constrictor is my top pick. I don't like the mismatched hands. Give me two fists, or two open hands, but not one of each. Love that they are reusing the Omega Red tendrils. I can swap in shorter not-yellow ones.
 
I pre-ordered everyone but Spidey. I do want a Wave 3, but the specific characters that I'm most interested in from Secret Wars are ISAAC, Volcana and Zsaji!
 
I have no idea what Hasbro plans for the future of Secret Wars, but it's an evergreen line, right?

Just the original maxi-series alone the main players are:
Spider-Man, Lizard, Dr. Octopus, Symbiote suit
Cap, Thor, Iron Man, Hulk, Wasp, She-Hulk, Hawkeye, Photon, Spider-Woman (Carpenter), Ultron, Kang
Wolverine, Storm, Cyclops, Colossus, Rogue, Nightcrawler, Kitty Pryde, Lockheed, Prof. Xavier, Magneto
Mr. Fantastic, Human Torch, Thing, Dr. Doom, Galactus
Wrecking Crew, Enchantress, Klaw, Absorbing Man, Molecule Man
Beyonder, Titania, Volcana

Additions from the Mattel line:
Hobgoblin, Electro
Falcon, Baron Zemo
Iceman
Daredevil
Constrictor

These characters alone can sustain the line for quite a while, figuring in costume variations, battle damage, reissues, etc.
Then factor in character additions from Secret Wars II (New Mutants, Invisible Woman, etc.) and subsequent Secret Wars titles.

I would think that retailers would love this line full of A listers, B and C listers with name recognition.

I just want Volcana....
 
Catching up on most of these:

Constrictor's portrait is back to the giant jaw sculptor. His empty bubble surely could have used something, and his costume having no sculpted details is a bummer. He's more of a sidegrade than an upgrade.

But Falcon gets sculpted glove cuffs AND boots - GREAT! FINALLY! Sam's head looks small and are people happy he's on the Sunfire buck again? And why does his bird have a giant red peg stuffed up his undercarriage?

I'd really like another chance at unmasked Matt Murdock. This was a great opportunity to actually fill that bubble. Love the sonar piece, again, FINALLY.

Magik is another super empty bubble. They could have given an alternate arm, or an alternate expression - the lenticular shields all get two faces but the figures one. That sounds right. :rolleyes:

Her abdomen seems to be a new sculpt - it accommodates the belt and also has sculpted wrinkles at the legs. I really hope that means they've fixed the awful ROM of the torso set-up of this current buck. I hate it.

There's no way her yellows match 97 Sunspot. She is actually the correct color that they chose not to do on him. But the packaged shots her torso and chest don't match so that's some continuing Hasbro BS. Yay.
 
I am all for continuing this sub-line, but I really wish they'd stop trying to make the new Legends resemble the original crappy toys (e.g., Cap's stripes, Wolvie's color scheme & abdomen details, Daredevil's enormous black Ds ...wait, what?)
Just make the damn characters look like they did in the comics already. This other approach is wakadoodoo.
 
Just Magik and DD for me. I'd have considered Spidey, but the symbiote on his face I think would have been better as a neck piece that can be removed, maybe just a swappable arm too so you can have a normal Spiderman, and just have symbiote effect pieces. I'll consider him later if he ever sees deep discount.
 
I put in my pre-orders for Falcon, Absorbing-Man, Magik and Daredevil, but I'm already on the fence about Daredevil.

He's a character I want, in the costume I want, but like with the recent 2-pack Cyclops, it's not in the *style* I want. I figure why get a version that's almost there when I'm pretty confident they'll release a version that's all the way there? There has to be, like, a Maximum Daredevil coming in the next few years, right?
