Looks like it's been 2 years since any new ultimates unless they did any 2-packs. I'm bummed because I never got a gremlin Mohawk.
 
A Mohawk redo was the thing I most wanted out of the G2 line after the vegetable gremlin. I always felt the head was a bit oversized and would've liked a newly sculpted one.
 
I was even going to settle for the video game Mohawk, but as far as I know it was either cancelled or I missed it as my pre-order from EE or BBTS eventually got cancelled.

Looking over Fun World’s website I hope NECA starts diving deeper into Ghostface than just “what’s the closest we can get to a Scream figure without getting sued?”

I was already excited for the “WAZZZUP!” Mask coming next year, and this Santa one looks fantastic… just saying Easterbunny, Valentines Pink, Scarecrow, maybe use the Valak/April/that Ultimate Elvira they hinted at and I hope we’re still getting body and make one of the sexy Lady Ghostface costumes… the non-mask merch they’re pushing looks like they want him be “Deadpool for Halloween” and frankly, I’m here for it! Gimme all sorts of wacky soft goods looks and cool mask variants (wouldn’t mind another chance at the Pride mask…) Especially if I can get some “cupped hands that make a heart” with one of them…

Wait, NECA can’t do Scream itself, only the Ghostface costume as it exists outside the media franchise?

Correct. Rights are VERY convoluted.

FunWorld owns the actual mask, while Paramount owns Scream. In order to make Ghostface from Scream, they would need to license from both. It's just cheaper to make the FunWorld Ghostface, because let's be honest, we all know who it is.

I always dug the Scarecrow costume, and really wish we'd gotten to see it on screen as was briefly planned (albeit for a short scene, I think). As iconic as the Ghostface costume is, I'd love to see them switch it up a bit, and not just a crusty, cracked mask. I was hopeful Chromeface would actually factor in to the plot somehow, but at least it looks cool. The Devil version would look sweet on film, and I know a lot of folks have mentioned wanting a white robed Ghostface for a winter setting. Just anything to switch it up at this point. I know it's not necessary, per se, and could easily feel gimmicky depending on what they do, but as long as thought is put into it, it could be cool.
 
I got curious as I'd seen the Jungle Hunter predator back out with the "25" coding above the UPC so I picked one up. And, yep, NECA finally, finally, finally gave the old predator the new hip joints! Still using the ball jointed ankles though, so that sucks. But if you care about that kind of thing, you can get a Jungle Hunter with ball hips now.

That should mean the City Hunter should have them in the Poster Series, and an expected re-release of that figure as well.

oh shit… I just realized I never pre-ordered those (and there! Just in time to get a “product will not be provided by manufacturer” order cancellation email!)

But the WWDitS Toonies took for fucking ever to get out too, heck, I still don’t have my the Grabber or Babyface even though Art the Clown shipped months ago… and I’m still not entirely sure the Toony Batman Returns (I mean, they’re not billed as such, but it’s Batman, Catwoman, and Penguin) aren’t an elaborate prank.

Something’s up at NECA (gee maybe buying Diamond for no apparent reason, selling off thousands of comics you don’t own at pennies on the dollar, and then being sued for the full cost of said comics by actual owners WASN’T a sound business move!) and it’s rippling so far down even the Toonies, which were supposed to be the cheap and fun “get em out there for Funko crowd” are being effected.
 
Art they pushed into production faster to coincide with the Ultimate and other merch hitting all around the same time. That's not too surprising there.
 
NECA is rarely good with timing, which is funny since they made their name with horror themed figures you would want on the shelves in the fall. When they reissued those Home Alone figures a few years back they missed Christmas. With the Toony versions, the only question is do they sit on them for most of 2026 or do they come out during the very seasonable time of March?
