Studio Series

I got home from work and asked if I had time for a quick trip to Target. About 30-45 minutes. Perfect amount of time and they even had a Soundwave. Very rarely do I go out for one specific item and actually find it. He made his way to the northeast pretty quickly after I saw toyshiz's post from three or four days ago.
 
And just like that, BBTS sent the preorder processing soon email.

I better cancel Amazon. I was thinking about waiting until tomorrow or the weekend to open, but now I'm feeling pressure from BBTS to find out if I need two. I don't really do that with Transformers.
 
Target has a one day 40% off sale today. I brought my receipts in for Soundwave, Wheeljack, and Sunstreaker. They did a return and rebuy. It brought Soundwave down to $36 and the deluxes to $15. Afterwards I bought Sideswipe. Not much of a selection left at my store.

The last time I brought a receipt in for a price adjustment, they wanted me to bring the actual items in. First time they ever asked that, and last time I ever attempted to get a price adjustment. They gave me the adjustment, but it was a rigamarole. Sale feels worth it, but not at this busy time of year when everyone's trying to pick up and return and buy and rush.
 
@NORM I try to avoid the adjustments, but this one was a little too high at $47 between a Leader and two Deluxes. I brought the Soundwave box with me just in case because I also had someone ask me if I had the items.
 
I used the 40% off sale to (finally) pick up Wheeljack, Sideswipe, and Sunstreaker.
 
Received Windcharger this weekend. He's pretty basic, essentially what they probably consider a "shell-former", but that shell tucks pretty well into his feet. He maintains the G1 silhouette really well, which in itself is pretty basic. He lacks 5mm ports, but I rarely used them for much anyway. I wonder if they'll bother with a 2pk of him and Wheeljack as corpses that Arcee has to drag. I'm just glad to have him to complete the season 1 mini-Autobots.
 
So a reissue of Hot Rod has gone up for PO at Target. Still $35 for that class figure, with additional accessories that weren't included in the original release. A fishing rod, a training saber and shield. Still comes with the Matrix, both rifles, and the saw. Not a bad value, for one of the best mass market Transformers at this scale of all time. Will go up on Pulse as well, at 1pm Eastern.
 
I went to look and maybe preorder him and hes presold out on both Target and Pulse. Guess I don't need him.

I got Thundercracker at Walmart. I was at an out of town store and opened him in the parking lot just in case I needed to run back in for an exchange. He was fine, but while I was in my car, I thought he looked and felt cheap. However, that changed when I got home where I'm quite happy with him. For some reason he looks so much better in my living room. Walmart's store price was $36.50, not quite as good as their online price of $34.99, but better than my bbts preorder at $42.99 or my $44.99 Amazon order. If yolopark was pumping out G1, whether all plastic or plastic/diecast, I doubt I would be in my current Hasbro foray (Clear plastic null rays painted blue, smh).
 
Received Thundercracker via Pulse yesterday. Not bad, getting used to it. Will play around more before sharing thoughts.

A couple notes on Windcharger:
- I don’t love the magnetic field attachment. Don’t understand why they had to create two tabs for it to connect differently on his chest and on his grill. Just make the connecting ports the same.
- When it comes to Studio Series, I like them to have painted windows rather than translucent. Gives off more of an animation vibe. So I’m disappointed that Windcharger has translucent windows. I’ll mostly keep him with my Earthrise/WfC set as he fits in and fills in a gap better with that collection.
- I discovered a lever on the back of his head that allows him to nod his face up and down. What’s that for? Seems unnecessary.
 
Today was a rare instance where I missed a preorder before it sold out. Hound went up this morning at 9am. Sold out at both Pulse and Target by the time I saw notice, around 11. I have this one already from the Dynamic Capture 5pk. But it's such a good mold, I'd love another. It's Target exclusive, so I'm sure I'll be able to find it.
 
I missed the Hound preorder, too ... and I don't already have this figure (didn't get the 5-pack).

I know I'll likely be able to find it when it's released, but it would've been nice to get in on the Target preorder while this was listed at $19.99.

I think the 20% off TFs sale contributed to it selling out so fast.
