G.I. Joe Classified Series: The Chatty Pointless Thread & Performance Art

One for you customiser types out there: are the waist-torso connections tricky to pop apart? I was thinking about picking up a particular TF character as I like their top but not a fan of their pants, so was thinking about swapping with their regular version.
 
Separating the torso from the crotch piece feels like I'm gonna break it trying, with almost every figure I've tried, so I stopped trying. I know how its engineered. I know what it looks like on the inside. But both Joe's and Star Wars that share this joint feel like they're just gonna break trying to separate it. I wouldn't risk it. The legs and overlays come off fairly easily though, so its probably better to change the legs and the diaper then it is to change the crotch piece. Not all diapers are the same either, so just be careful with that too. Some will rip if a smaller diaper goes on a bigger crotch piece.

Ancient picture but still applies. Torso to crotch is one of the only places you can't disassemble.

Note that on most newer figures you can pop off the neck, hands, boot, and feet too.
