General Marvel Legends

Ryan's a big X-Men guy, and a big trading card guy. Kylun had a card in the Jim Lee set. I'm sure Ryan's heard of Kylun.

Oh, my God. If I was in charge of Marvel figures...

Oof. Rosters complete galore. Sublines out the ass. Characters to where even the most hardcore would be like "Really? Paste Pot Pete? Forearm? Tusk? Alright...".

DC, I know the big hitters. I am a mostly Batman fan. There, my knowledge isn't as extensive, outside of that world.

Heheheh if I were in charge of Marvel toys, we’d be on like our 10th version of Dracula.

“Oooh can’t wait to pick up that two-pack of Blade in his 90s biker look vs Dracula in that outfit he got at the end of ‘Tomb of Dracula: Day of Blood! Night of Redemption!’ and wore for only like two issues!!”
😁

Don’t worry: you’d still get Avengers and stuff.

I'm always happy to learn, I just know my interests. That's the fun of the hobby to me, people liking other aspects of it and info dumping.

Of course sometimes the fans also love to gate keep. My Green Lantern was Hal Jordan because of super Friends and my dad was a fighter pilot. Never really got into Kyle even though the '90s was my comic book adolescents. It's cool he was an artist like me but he never interested me to look deeply into the lore.

Took lot of flack from that, especially from people my age who apparently hate Hal and even Barry. Again I don't take it that seriously. So sure. It was not until Jessica came along and I was like oh damn she's got the same mental problems I do that's cool. Representation. Then I cared more about Green Lantern.

And back then at my shop that was like putting a Target on your back for old heads to get mad at you probably because brown woman, but they said it was because Kyle is the best. I don't care about Kyle. Sorry to any Kyle fans. I even like that run of JLA. He's just not my dude.

I get not liking something. I don't get hating someone for not liking something or preferring someone else. Kyle's my guy because of when I started reading GL and I think Hal's generally boring - but that's me and hell over time there have been Hal stories I've liked. Hal's case was hampered by the whole HEAT debacle. That may have been the first time I heard of an online group dedicated to hating a fictional character. Sounds exhausting.

Ooo!!! And if I was in charge we'd have every member and every costume of the New Warriors in the first few waves and the line would crash before the year was out.

That bites.
One of the things I think is cool about Green Lantern is that everyone can have “their” GL. For me that is *definitely* Alan, but, like, hey, if other folks dig Jessica, or Simon, or John, or Guy, or Kyle, or Hal, or friggin’ Kilowog or even G’nort, that’s neat!

Ha - this is exactly what I think of every fan's "If I was running the show..." daydream. Rattling off a list of wants is easy when you aren't having to deal with the realities of keeping the line sustainable.

Alan is interesting for me because in my immediate comic friend circle back then, he was separate. I guess because he's magic and the JSA was considered its own thing to most DC fans I knew.

I think he's cool. I really like the Society.

I'd put John after Hal and Jessica.

My favourite alien corps members are Arisia, Larfleeze, and Bleez. St Walker is also dope.
