Fwoosh Toys/Articulated Icons

Yup. Least surprising thing I've heard all day.

It really is such a massive shame. This line came out of the gate with products that, while not perfect, everyone seemed to like and be enthusiastic about. And everyone, at the time, really wanted to support Fwoosh. For most of us that was a place that had been a second home for years and years. To burn up all that good will is just wild.

It's a real bummer. There were things I think that could have been done better int he original ninjas (mainly not trying to do samurai at the same time, as the design compromises sort of hurt both sides) but it was a neat project and I hoped it would lead to bigger better things.

The Ninja Scroll stuff could have been a kick to get the whole production back on track, but it just doesn't seem like there's much interest from the people producing it, so how is anybody else supposed to jump on? I glanced at the Fwoosh forums the other day, I think specifically the Black Series thread, and nobody had posted in months. And compared to here that's WILD.

I mean, in terms of public facing, he was Fwoosh. I'm glad he's his own act now, and glad it seems to still be working for him.
Agree.

It's just interesting to me that most toy people I meet or read elsewhere didn't even know there were forums or a site. Having worked in branding and marketing it's just like... The definition of pissed away by everyone not Robo.

Industrial. There's a name I've not heard in a long time.

I remember talking to Veebs and Robo at Power Con a few years ago and how excited they were about the Ninja Scroll stuff and the possibilities for the future of the AI line. It's such a shame how the site has fallen into disregard.

Still has me curious on if BBWS straight up bought the skeleton molds off Fwoosh. I doubt they have any intention on making anything more, seems like it would make more sense to sell them off rather than have to deal with just loaning them out.

I wonder if BBWS could just buy the molds for the Ninja Scroll figures and release them. I always wanted these figures from somebody that actually knew how to run a business.

When's this thread getting retitled to read like a tombstone?

Definitely a shame to see how the mighty have fallen. Like a lot of folks, The Fwoosh started to die for me when Robo and Veebs left since they were the public face on the whole thing. I always assumed that’s why they did leave: they were the brand, but their work was enriching someone else more. It just made sense to work for themselves rather than The Fwoosh.
