Marvel Legends Preorders - When and Where

I've never bought anything from Storm Collectibles but didn't they just lower their price simply to compete with Jada, specifically for Street Fighter? Again, I don't know them and have never bought anything they make, so I may be way off on this.
The Storm Collectibles (proper) line is more in 1/10 scale, so they started a subline called Storm Arena that is in 1/12 scale and priced in the $25-$35 range. I don’t doubt that the creation of the line and the price point was heavily influenced by Jada, though.

I suppose paying more for certain characters doesn't bother me as much because I don't buy many other lines. I don't collect Joes or Transformers or Mythic Legions or any of that. I'll pick up an occasional MOTU figure out of nostalgia or the NECA Universal Monsters (which has been a grand total of 10 or so figures in the last 3-5 years) but otherwise Legends is it. If the line continues to head deeper into "repackaged A-listers" territory then I will be done. I'm all good on Venoms and Wolverines and War Machines and Punishers, no matter how many butterfly joints or articulated toes they add.

And I realize that I'm (increasingly) in the minority. That's okay, time marches on. If the only way Hasbro can justify making some of the deeper cut characters I want is to make a handful of them a year with boutique figure prices then, yeah, I'm okay with that. I'm not spending anything on them otherwise and it would cost me less than 10-15 years ago when I bought way more Legends figures than I do now. So if it's that or nothing, then I'll take that option. And everyone else can enjoy $27 Marvel Rivals Ghost-Spider or trench coat Punisher. I don't begrudge them that. But I'm not getting any younger and I'd like to get a few more specific characters before I'm completely irrelevant to the market.

That’s where I’m coming from as well. I just turned 59. While I don’t plan on retiring for another six years, six years will go by fast. 2019 seems like yesterday, and when I’m on a fixed income, I’ll be lucky if I can afford to buy a figure at Ollie’s.

I'm a little bit younger (turned 50 this year) but definitely getting too old for even the nostalgia offerings of Legends. Things like the Capcom figures and the 90s cartoon stuff. I'm not against those things being made because I want everyone to get what they want, but I'm not ready to be totally squeezed out just yet. And if getting someone like Jack Of Hearts costs $45-50 then it is what it is.

It was two, maybe three years ago that Dwight told me he pitched the idea of a Western Box Set to the rest of the team. The set would have consisted of Kid Colt, Two-Gun Kid, Red Wolf, Outlaw and a horse. His idea, sadly, was shot down.

But I would gladly pay 300 bucks for such a set. Throw in Lobo and we can make it 330.

If Hasbro wanted to do a Bronze Age Monsters set, same thing. Dracula, Werewolf By Night, Frankenstein's Monster, Living Mummy and Manphibian. 300 bucks. Throw in Bride of Frankenstein and we can make it 340.

Don't get me started on the Invaders. Just don't. I don't know how high I would go for that.

I won't talk about how much I'd pay for a good Magik in a costume I like. How many of us would spend big bucks on Magik, though? The same could be said for Baron Blood, Two-Gun Kid, or anyone else mentioned in this thread.

Hasbro could use the made-to-order model for everything if it had a big enough customer base to do it. For most characters, I'm guessing that's not the case.

Slightly off topic but is it coincidental that Dwight pitched this awhile back, it was rejected, but we are supposably getting Phantom Rider, who would have fit into this set very easily? Especially interesting that there's usually a 1 1/2 to 2 year turn around between pitch/approval/design/manufacturing/reveal/sale? That would put Phantom Rider pretty close to Dwight's initial Western pitch. Maybe Dwight's initial pitch led to Phantom Rider, who in turn could lead us to other western heroes.
I would be totally down for a made-to-order horse with any of the western heroes attached, or all of them attached.

I would love some Western Marvel characters. Honestly, I'm not sure I've read any of their solo stories and probably have only read their crossovers with modern characters. But I love Westerns.

It's too bad the MCU kinda flubbed Kang. Imagine some time traveling stories where modern MCU characters go to the Old West. That kind of adventure could still happen. Would be cool to see a MCU style Western. Hell, it would be a real curveball and break the same-y mold of the movies. There'd still be the snarky humor. But an Old West setting would be refreshingly different at this point. And if it could get us some figures...

Dan just posted on Twitter "Be the Champion of the Universe this week" which I assume means that the Starfox/Champion 2-pack is pre-ordering this week. He also included a picture of the duo. He didn't give a date.

Marvel's got you - What If...? 1872! Season 3, episode 6 - what if Shang-Chi and Kate Bishop a) knew each other and b) were cowboys in the past.

It might be one of the worst episodes (I started doing dishes halfway and can't remember what happens), but hey - might be your favorite! :)
