General Marvel Legends

I just got an email saying its ship date is December 15.
Right, mine says that... is two and a half months away "soon"? Like, the original estimate was in October... 2 1/2 weeks or so, and that would be soon.

Like, it's just a little weird, and makes me think they're going to charge us with the first ship date in mind, but the email does not clarify that.

It's not so much that the text of the email is confusing, it seems to indicate everything is still slated for December. But the tone of it is saying the thing is imminent... and it just isn't. So it makes me antsy.

Just try not to get blackout drunk between now and then. That way you’ll be able to see the train coming before it has a chance to hit you.

I also got the shipping soon email that also says 'December 15th' as the new ship date. Which, I guess I wouldn't consider that SOON. But I also kind of appreciate the idea that Hasbro is giving people a several-paychecks-heads-up about their 150 dollar + shipping item.

Amazon is koo-koo for Coco Puffs right now. Man-Wolf is $60 (from them, not third party!). Shuma in stock, arriving Sunday! WTH?

Yeah, I saw this too. I'll just wait for BBTS on the MTG figures. I expect that they'll have both those and the X-Men '97 wave in next week since they've already sent me the "pre-order" arriving soon for all of those.

I went ahead and ordered the Gargantos to arrive on Sunday and cancelled my pre-order (also through Amazon) that still said estimated for October 21st. Weird stuff there. Ecstatic for Gargantos, easily one of my most anticipated figures in quite some time! I even bought the heroclix and lego versions when they came out because I've wanted him for so long.

I am surprised Amazon didn’t pepper us with the your figure is now shipping tomorrow or the next day messages. Eh. It will come when it does. Looking forward to Gargantos more than Juggernaut. Iron Spider MJ is fun. Bonus I sold my card for about half the pack cost so even more fun.

Thwipp!

Man... Hasbro is killing me right now. All of the X-Men 97 wave hit last week along with Mandarin 2-pack, and now, all of the Magic the Gathering wave, Shuma Gorath not to mention Joe Classified SNAKE armor, Mercer 2-pack, and the Hawk SMS set all just charged at Amazon within hours of each other. Too much stuff.

Yeah, there is too much stuff coming from Hasbro. Thats why I keep looking at a lot of Marvel Legends I have on pre order right now, as I'm considering cancelling some of them. They are all items that are just SO CLOSE to identical to other things I have. So, I have to ask myself. Do I need these items?
The new Strong Guy when I already have the BAF. The Gamerverse Juggernaut when I have the BAF and 2 Pack Juggernauts.

The Jean and Cyclops 2 pack when I have the House of X Jean and various Cyclops in similar attires. The Wolverine and Storm 2 pack when I have the Storm from the Storm/Thunderbird pack and the Secret Wars Wolverine.

And Maximum Deadpool when I have every other Deadpool.

If Hasbro wasn't flooding us with so much product at the exact same time over multiple lines/properties, I might not question it. But with all the money Hasbro is asking me for over all the lines I collect, do I really need the items that are so similar to items I already have?

I don't know what to do. But I may make some cuts.

@Super Camel Make the cuts. You'll be glad you did.

If you really miss it, you can always pick it up later. Maybe even on sale.
That's exactly what I did today. And it did feel liberating lol. But the ones I mentioned are just way to similar to figures I already have. And like you said, I can always get them later.

I got rid of the 2 X-men 97 2 Packs, Maximum Deadpool, and Strong Guy. So, just over $200 worth of stuff.

I kept Juggernaut as of now. Even though I have the BAF and Colossus 2 pack juggernauts, I like how big this Gamerverse version is.

Agreed. I canceled a bunch of preorders and have no regrets. It helps me to plug a lower price into Keepa for a two year time frame and use that threshold as an “okay” sign to purchase. I need to set rules for myself sometimes even if they would seem arbitrary to others.

I cancelled some pre-orders today too, but only because I found a bunch of stuff in the wild. Gamestop had Man-Wolf and a local comic book store had the X-Men '97 figures of Cable, Jubilee, Logan and Sunspot. My Gargantos is supposed to arrive tomorrow from Amazon.

I don't think I've pre-ordered any Legends figures in a very long time. They just haven't been that hard to get hold of in years (a good thing, in my view). And I'm trying more and more to embrace the idea that if I miss out on a random retail figure, then obviously I just wasn't meant to have it. There are a few lines where 'finding it in the wild' or 'just grabbing it in stock online one day when I happen to think about it' isn't possible. But ML isn't one of them.

To be fair, I've also wound down my ML collecting to just the essentials, pricing in Canada being what it is. So it's not like there's a lot out there even tempting me with the pre-order.

In other general news, I was going through my MLs, which are currently put away, and finally decided to get rid of Return of ML Coipel Thor. I've had this guy since the day he released, which was like 13 years ago? I still LOVE this version of the character. In fact, it's my favorite Thor ever. But the figure is pretty dated and I think it's time to get it go. MAYBE I'll even get a couple of bucks for it. If I wait until (and if) Hasbro makes a new one, this figure's value will be a big fat zero pennies and I'll wish I had just let it go sooner.
