She-Ra and Swiftwind arrived and they are magnificent, very unsurprisingly. My copy has perfect paints on both figures. The packaged pose deceived me. The wings looked like they were already plugged in but I had to do it. She-Ra looks like she’s riding Swiftwind but she’s just sort of flying over him. She’s essentially the same figure as the standard one, but has translucent hair, sword, and shield. She can reach the stirrups, which is the only real way to fasten her to the saddle. However there are two locks of mane that stick out, presumably for She-Ra to grip if she’s not holding her weapons. The wings have swivels in the middle to open and close, and they plug into the saddle and hinge vertically, which makes for some oddly limited posing. His mask comes off, revealing a golden mask that’s part of the face sculpt. The legs are very well articulated, and the tail is on a swivel hinge. She-Ra’s cloth cape is like most cloth capes from Mattel MotU, flimsy but suitable enough. I’m sure plastic would have impeded her sitting. Swiftwind has a great neck swivel hinge at the torso and a ball hinge at the head for some expressive posing. Colors are vivid. Construction feels sturdy. Packaging can be used as a display, but I’ll likely toss it. Only thing I wish it had was a display stand for flight poses. The set gets a 98% from me.
