General Marvel Legends

I just got the Wolverine / Silver Samurai 2-pack today from BBTS today and the Wolverine is missing one of his claws on his left hand, and it's not in the box. Super bummed because I've been waiting with great anticipation for this set to arrive. If that damned claw had just been loose in the box somewhere I could have just popped it back in. Now it's going to be a hassle to try to get a replacement. Other than that it's a great Wolverine figure.

I'd go straight to Hasbro CS for a replacement of that one. I've had good luck getting replacements for non-exclusive items when there is damage or missing parts.

I personally hope that Hasbro mostly avoids soft goods unless it's just as a swappable option. Unless you've got them in an enclosed display I've found that they can tend to have a pretty short shelf life before they have to be disposed of altogether. That can vary greatly though based upon quality, of course --- but Dust, humidity/moisture, direct sunlight/heat and bugs/insects can all have bigger impacts to soft goods than most plastics. I don't like to buy figures to have to replace them in 2-3 years.

I had a claw missing from my Animated Wolverine and Hasbro couldn't/wouldn't do anything for me. Hopefully you have more luck on something non-exclusive.

This new Extremis is a massive improvement, but the first release wasn't garbage. Not to me, at least. Would I have preferred this articulation originally? Yes, of course. But I still liked it :)

Gadzooks! Those claws are way too long. They’re supposed to fit in his forearm, but they’re almost as long as his entire arm.

Woop, fingers crossed I've finally managed to snag a Wyngarde, and for a not terribly extortionate price either. I don't have that many bad guys but I do have a rather large soft spot for the Hellfire Club.

I have the figure and I can assure you they are as long as his lower arms from the tip of the elbows to his knuckles. Also keep in mind this is a much larger figure than the traditional ML wolverines so his arms are longer and much thicker. Even his hands are bigger. So while the claws look long, in fact they’re very proportional, relative to the size of his body

...i mean... they are definitely too long to fit in his forearms but thats ok because they look cool and were drawn that way a lot in the 90s

If they ran up to his knuckles he wouldn't be able to move his wrists.

Technically Wolverine shouldn’t be able to move period. His spine is coated in adamantium. That’s supposed to be the most flexible section of interconnecting ligaments, bones and joints in the human body. Let’s just agree to disagree that arguments like this are silly. Wolverine is a comic book character for crying out loud. He lives in the same universe as Mr Fantadtic and a guy who can fly through the entire universe via a magically enchanted hammer.

So... if the adamantium only bonds to bone then it wouldn't change the mobility of the spine in any way, the ligaments and other tissue would operate the same as in anyone.

I agree that the thought of the retracted claws extending from the elbow to the knuckle would render the wrists entirely unusable and thus would be dumb. Of course the idea that the claws are housed in the forearm and slide all the way up and through the hand isn't likely physically functional either. Its honestly just as believable that the hand contains little dimensional portals from which the claws emerge when summoned.

Maybe you are right. Best not to think about it too deeply.

Should have just left it at the gloves like they intended. Did he have a healing factor from the jump or was that retconned in.

Also at some point wasn't Cyclops's rationale at some point that he did have dimensional portals in his eyes that opened to the energy dimension.

Excuse me, it’s the PUNCH DIMENSION.
Hawaiian or the bald anime guy in the cape?

To be fair, it's long been held that the only way to kill Wolverine is to drown/deprive him of air (dropping him in the ocean or tossing him into space?) or sever his head between the vertebrae in his neck where the adamantium doesn't overlap and keeping the head away from the body so it can't reattach. The latter was outlined in the Xavier's protocols during the build up to Onslaught.

I know Beast supposedly kept Logan as just a head when experimenting on / cloning him during their Krakoan timeshare, I was out of the comics by then.

I actually like my Gamerverse Wolverine quite a bit. The nonsensical 90s claws are fine with me. I think the only improvement I could give for this body were if it were in the same scale as the 97/Secret Wars/Logan we're all used to's body. And maybe a screaming or unmasked head.

I honestly don't know what they're going to do for Maximum Wolverine unless it's just a straight on depiction of his brown/tan Jim Lee costume from X-Men #1.
