RESULTS ARE IN! The Official Articulated Thoughts 2025 Top 10 Poll

I think the most obvious answer to getting that classic Bucky is, and I know instantly people would be mad, you'd have to make a Captain America that's high demand. Like the Renew Your Vows Spider-Man was at the time. Some Cap that offers something people really want but haven't gotten yet. Then you 2 pack it. But yeah, I don't think Bucky on his own would sell
How about OG Cap?

Solved it.

Hopefully the rumored Deathbird, Triton and Gorgon show up soon.
If not, I learned a big lesson in being strategic with my votes.
Deathbird is my #1 most wanted figure. Triton and Gorgon are actually #10. I count them together on my list although I would separate them in a voting situation.
I think it's very possible many of us dismissed them and other characters because they were on the magical rumor/leak list.

That's why I didn't count Owl or Cardiac, so hopefully they show up, too.

Didn't they already do that Bucky, though? I know he's early Hasbro and heavily-stylized - but doesn't that work for his era? Or does he really stand out on a shelf now? I don't have him so don't throw a pie at me. :)

On that note - kinda surprised they've never gone back to the Brood, either.

That Bucky is a bit of a mess. The body is way outdated (from Toy Biz Patriot) and he stands taller than lots of Cap figures.

I wonder how much stock we should put in Dwight saying these figures won't happen because someone thinks they won't sell. Like, I wonder if they pitched a set or wave or whatever that included Bucky and/or Toro, and that was the feedback they got. Rather than some blanket prohibition on ever making the characters.

No, there is no prohibition or restriction on Bucky or the Golden Age. They have tried to get Bucky approved more than once and they'll eventually try again.

I mean, it's taken 25 years but it looks like we're finally going to get a Golden Age Human Torch, so never give up hope.

Dwight is hopeful that the World War II Logan figure will lead to more figures from that era in time. I love the insane attention to detail on that figure. The uniform, the boots, the helmet, the rifle ... that looks like a US Army world war II uniform to me.

Dwight, I know you and the rest of the guys are reading this. Great work!

There must be someone in the chain of approvals who just thinks the old Bucky design looks lame compared with the modern Winter Soldier one. Maybe the further we get from those movies the easier it will be to finally get it through. It does seem like a no-brainer to just put him in a two-pack with a classic Cap.

I guess the days of the Amazon 5 packs are over, but man, would an Invaders set like that be great.
That at one point was actually the plan. Dwight told me about this a couple of years ago. Remember the Avengers West Coast box set? That was originally supposed to be the Invaders. But someone at Disney nixed it. The Wakanda Forever movie was about to come out, and someone at the Mouse House felt like that would have been too much Namor in action figure form in too short a period of time.

We were so, so close. But I am still hopeful the rest of the Invaders will come someday, hopefully in my lifetime.

If World War II Logan and Jim Hammond sell, then we'll see what the future holds.

I now vaguely remember you talking about this back then. Man, that is heartbreaking to think about- then again, the figures made in the next year or two will surely be better quality than the ones that would have been produced for the boxset. Hopefully that isn't just copium, as my kids would tell me. Actually, they'd tell me nobody says that anymore and I'm cringe. Wait, nobody says that either anymore probably. I need to go outside to yell at some clouds.
