I've been slowly collecting all of these lines over the years after my dad found a bucket full of my old figures in his shed. I thought they had been sold for years so I was really excited and started doing some restoration on them with leg band replacement, etc.

I sold off my 200x stuff a few years back but recently rebought a cheap lot on eBay but I still have a few holes that I need to fill in that collection too.

Anyone else still have their originals or collect these old vintage lines?

I bought some replacement bands online a few years back. You just heat up the legs and use some needle nose pliers to dig out the old dry rotting ones and pop in the new one on one side, feed it through, and pop them into the other leg. I used pliers to hold one side and a pointy sculpting tool to push the other side in. The first few were a challenge but I got really good at it after redoing virtually my entire vintage collection aside from two or so that still had good ones.

I don't remember where I got mine from but these are similar.

Target canceled my He-Man/Skeletor 2pk. After several delay approvals. Standard operating procedure at this point.

I have been revisiting my original figures. I had a pretty decent collection. But many to most of them are hella loose in the hips. I can tell most of those elastic bands are hanging by a thread. So I ordered some Brotu bands off Amazon to start some replacing. They were not exactly cheap, but I got two packs of ten each anyway. If I like how they feel, it will be worth it to replace even the ones in decent shape. I am concerned that they won’t be compatible for females though.

I've often considered going back and trying to buy at least one really good condition He-Man and maybe Tri-Klops. I'm afraid it will turn into a whole thing, though. Same with wanting to recollect the NA versions of He-Man, which were some of my favorite He-Man figures growing up, actually.

I’m considering doing the same. I’m weighing the prices of replacing parts like Stratos’ wings, Beast Man’s shoulder armor, weapons, etc. or just buying the complete figure. I need to replace my Grizzlor because I sacrificed its pelt for fodder. I did pick up the cummerbund and laser rifle for a beater Trap Jaw I picked up years ago because I never hand him as a kid.

I really enjoyed building out and restoring my vintage collections several years back. Replacing the leg bands was very satisfying. The ones that I used for the guys weren't supposed to work for the ladies but they did.

So I started on the leg band replacement project. First was Stinkor because he was already broken. The rest are still hanging on but many are super loose. Stinkor was a tough one to start with because I couldn’t tell where the band ended and his black leg plastic began. I just thoroughly dug out what I could and heated each leg before pushing the band into the socket. From there it was easy. The toughest part was digging out the rotted band. Looking forward to restoring whoever I can!

I replaced bands on Fisto, Man-E-Faces, Teela, Two-Bad, Mekaneck, Moss Man, Spikor, and Sy-Klone. Sy-Klone was a bit trickier than the rest due to his action feature. Despite many new bands, these figures seem like they just weren’t designed to stand on their own. Strong, tight bands still can’t compete with a sculpt that forces the figure to lean forward. This is a bigger issue on the mold used for Trap-Jaw, MEF, Roboto. Those feet just don’t bend forward enough to get them to stand in a position that isn’t completely awkward.

Between these and Joe O-rings, it’s amazing to me that these companies used material that would so easily deteriorate. I guess they didn’t think about these lasting forty years later.

In taking stock of my vintage MotU, I broke out my remaining vehicles: Attak-Trak, Battle Ram, Wind Raider, Land Shark, and Roton. Of these, the Battle Ram is missing the fewest parts. Still have two missiles and the fire just as well as ever!

Attak-Trak is just missing rubber bands, it might still work if I put some batteries in. Wind Raider is missing everything that it would need to fly - wings and rear stabilizer. So now it’s just a car. Land Shark is missing the cannons.

Actually, I don’t think Roton is missing anything either. Has both small cannons still attached but I don’t remember it having anything else. Guess I was confusing it with the Origins version.

My Attak-Trak and Dragon Walker still work but Spydor hasn't for years. I need to watch some repair videos or something and see if I can get him going.
