Marvel Legends Preorders - When and Where

My Spider-Man '77 shipped last night, surprisingly. I was sure after I got multiple "delayed" messages that it would be cancelled like it always with Walmart.

My Spidey '77 got cancelled last night as well. I'm in MA. So I wonder if it indeed does have anything to do with inventory being centralized to a warehouse.

Convenient that they also raised the price. >:-(

I have no evidence other than past experience and anecdotes but I do think Walmart frequently just doesn't bother stocking toys in New England. Target, also, I find usually stocks the northeast last even with stuff that isn't hard to find.

I find that Target is typically two to three weeks behind first sightings on the West Coast. Sometimes, there's a simultaneous release though. I always have better luck at Target than at Walmart.

Checking my other Walmart "preorders." Two things are supposed to arrive by Sept. 1 but are still available for preorder and I wonder if that means they have ENOUGH stock for preorders or they didn't sell that many. Anything that is labeled as unavailable to still preorder I'm completely writing off as failure to launch. I give the others 50/50 chances.

‘77 Spidey went back up in stock for 29.97 this time around.

I know I should not reward Walmart for fucking with us, but just out of curiosity I ordered it with some vitamins for free shipping because I want to see, like they did with Jim Gordon, how MANY times they'll cancel my order. I think Lt. Gordon got ordered and canceled seven times on me. By the end it was like a mini game.

Just opened Spider-Man 77 and even though I re-ordered him out of spite after the pre-order cancellations, I'm glad I got him - it's a really nice figure (brings back memories and all). Walmart's DNGAF pre-order process just blows my mind, though - my order was canceled but then I have the figure 36 hours after ordering him in stock. They've got to be manipulating the numbers a bit with those preauth charges or something, because otherwise there's no reason for them to offer preorders in the first place.

Walmart Pre-Orders have been about 50/50 with me. Usually I end up making 2 separate orders because of that. Sometimes when it up goes up for preorder the second time for the 2nd order. After that I ALMOST always end up with at least one of my orders.
