Yeah, that tweet ain't gonna sit well with the people already losing it over the costume choice for Mandarin. At least it should make it easier to pass on this set knowing it very likely won't be the only comic Mandarin released. Likely.
 
Dan just doesn’t want to spoil the surprise. A classic version of Mandarin will be part of next year’s SDCC exclusive three-pack.
 
I think it fits Hasbro's pattern of releasing long-requested characters in a more modern look first and then something more classic within about a year. I'll be holding out for a more classic Mandarin, or at least a more colorful version.

I do like the brighter red for the Extremis Iron Man. And interesting they added ab-crunch to the figure. I don't like it enough to buy though.

If one of the leaders of anything leaves, the product most likely will change without their influence. I don't know any specifics, I'm just thinking this shake-up could be an opportunity for the line to shift in a new direction I/we might like better. Or worse. At least, perhaps a lot less trading card influence?
 
Is anybody going to the Canada event this weekend? If so, ask Steve Evans if there are any versions of Mandarin that are completely off limits.
 
Well, I’m trying to order the Extremis/Mandarin set, and it’s showing as currently unavailable. Based on how many of you are passing on it, did they have like five sets to sell?

On the listing is just glitched. Look at the picture of the figures in the listing. It’s not formatted correctly.

As I am not sure I would recognize this as the Mandarin without the context of being with IM or the name on the packaging, this will be a pass for me. Disappointing.
 
This is the second time lately Amazon has had bad Photoshop in their images - battle-damaged Spidey had the same weird misaligned cut-out.

Also hilarious - this set being unavailable. Sure, Jan.
