MAFEX Marvel Figures

The movie Wolverine and Deadpool look pretty great, and nice that Deadpool comes with Dogpool and Logan claws.

Prepare to grit your teeth some more, there's even more movie stuff coming!

* Thunderbolts Yelena, Bucky, and John Walker announced
* Last year's T'Challa and T'Chaka are all painted up and look nice, though the latter has a muddy foot for some reason
* Comic version reissue of Gambit (looks more like the cartoon colours if you ask me but hey)

In non-Marvel news:

* ANOTHER Black Dwayne, this time with throne. You have to laugh at this point
* Shirtless Ra's looks hella cool, I must admit
* Homelander and Butcher get 2.0s (why?), and Maeve's all finalised and looks good
* Bossk is all painted up and looks lovely
* S3 Moff Gideon and Bo-Katan (literally the only difference must be her shoulder pad and energy shield, right?)

Anyway, a bunch of pics available here: https://hobby.dengeki.com/event/2677292/

Though still no decent ones of Peacemaker and Bloodsport, bah.

Thanks for this info. I hadn't seen anything about the Boys from SDCC until now. Very disappointing though. There aren't a ton more figures from the show I want, but why redo Butcher? Homelander I guess I can see. Just glad Maeve is still coming out. Part of me worried that she was going to be quietly canceled because I wasn't sure how the line was doing. Now a lot of people talking about it.

I don't know ANY Japanese companies that charge up front on pre-orders.

I also don't know of any American ones, either, except one--Nerdzoic. And if you cancel a pre-order with him you lose part of what you paid or are forced to take store credit.

He's a small store, I don't have a problem with that.

Anyone know if any of the import sites will list the Medicom Exhibit exclusives of Scarlet Spider, Batman, and Homelander?

The prices on the Mafex are getting to be untennable. I'm sure this has multiple factors, but I will never shell out htat kind of cash unless one of these figures is the ULTIMATE, near perfect version of any of these characters. I have not seen one such Mafex figure since Gambit. Magneto was close, but a little undersized. Ice man and Punisher have little things off about them, and I don't know how they will scale yet either.

Yeah, you can add Mafex to my growing list of lines that a) aren’t providing enough value in relation to their asking price, and b) are going off on way too many tangents that I’m simply not interested in.

That’s a statement that applies to me personality, not a generalization. After over 25 years as an adult collector who’s pushing 60, I’m starting to feel like I’ve been there and done that…several times…with Marvel, DC, and Star Wars. I’m more interested in the anime and video game characters that the likes of SHF, Jada, and Storm are putting out, and I feel that all three of those brands offer me solid value at their respective price points.

Iceman was an exception, because to this day, the original Toy Biz ML8 Iceman is my Iceman of choice. After Hasbro has failed so miserably on so many occasions (again, my personal opinion), I want to see how the Mafex version turns out. Iceman fits in so many displays that I may buy another one if I’m happy once I have him in hand.

Speaking of which, that’s my other issue with Mafex. With most toy companies, this would be a good sampling of what to expect in 2026. At the pace Mafex moves, I feel these reveals will take us through the end of 2027…and possibly beyond that.

This Iceman is the closest thing to the ML 8 Iceman we've ever gotten. Very similar look without the anatomical weirdness that that figure had.

The only Mafex I collect as a line is The Boys. I grabbed Iceman to supplement my Marvel collection. I could never afford to jump all in on a Mafex line with the potential for as much expansiveness as Marvel or DC have.

That's been true since the start of the line. I usually don't even get the references to the Japanese cultural toys they make, but if you were a fan of their 11th figure from 2015 shown below that's some television personality who was infamous for soiling himself then grats to you! 🤮
