The Countdown to SDCC 2025!

Marvel Legends Spiderman Electronic "Expressive" Mask:

I imagine the usual retailers/site sponsors will have this up shortly.

Interesting that they give you a wireless remote to move the eyes. Not sure how I feel about the solid helmet with a cloth overlay but I will wait and see. I'll probably pick one up if it goes on sale like the last Spiderman helmet from Marvel Legends.

I'll be getting nothing done at work today. Or tomorrow. Which isn't much different from most of my days recently due to the weird limbo I am in where I'm transitioning to a new position but haven't really taken on those duties yet but also I'm no longer really responsible for my old duties either.

Soooo, SDCC watching it is.

This is from the Hasbro display today. What the heck is that shield around Magneto, where'd that come from?!?! I need that RIGHT NOW! And that extra-long Cyclops optic blast, GIMME! This is the stuff I want WAAAY more than figures. I'm in for every Maximum or Deluxe or whatever release they pack with this kind of stuff.

Not to burst your (magnetic) bubble, but it looks 3D printed.

Yeah, not to be pissy about it but AT definitely has a lack of MCU figure voters, heh.
It's easy for me to overlook since they're not my focus, but it's definitely true. It might be nice to consider an additional category for MCU figures, or even just pull forward the top 3 MCU specific vote getters when tabulating the results. Personally my biases are well reflected in the vote winners but it would encourage broader participation.

I appreciate that, but yeah... what was voted is what was voted. I'm just being a whiner, but of course I recognize that was the majority decision here. it's really my only complaint about AT, which is severely minor when you think about it. Most of you don't collect what I collect, ah well.

To be up front, I personally think the MCU offerings are, and should remain very separate from ML proper. That being said, I still want MCU collectors to be able to voice their preferences and hopefully obtain their personal desires in that line.
I suggest there be a separate "Top 5" vote for the people who collect MCU merchandise, complete with the most desired MCU cosplay item or whatever, similar to how we vote for BaF or deluxe offerings. I only suggest a top five because the cinematic character/costume pool is a mere fraction of the vast options available from the comics. Once tallied, I suggest it should somehow be provided to Hasbro but not in the ML top 10 results. Maybe Ru or someone else could lean into the cinematic theme and assemble a trailer that showcases their picks which can then be sent to the design team? I dunno; I'm spitballing here.

I definitely agree. When they were mixing waves and causing both sides to have to buy figures they didn't want for BAF parts, I thought it was horrible.

Agreed again, and appreciated.

I get that. I'm sure we all have more than ten wants anymore, but I do get your perspective. I won't speak for the other handful of MCU guys here, but five would definitely cover the must-haves on my list.

That's a FANTASTIC idea, though I'm not really capable of doing it. It also would involve more from the team as far as having to load a disc or something and sitting down to watch, as opposed to opening a packet and flipping through cards. I dunno... maybe a movie poster or something? If someone else is down to cut a trailer then by all means though!

I technically have the ability to do some form of sizzle reel. It's more an issue of time in my case cause I got 2 toddlers, 1 of whom is autistic. But I do have enough editing station and such

Well shit, nice! I feel like you have a year to get that done! Heh. Assuming it's something we want to get in their hands at the next comic con.

But I totally get it with the toddlers. When my son was a year old, I took a year off work while my wife worked (until she went into labor with our first daughter), and during that time I was doing a lot of the graphics and photoshopping and writing articles for a collector site I co-ran, and doing all that while taking care of my son all day burned me out hard.

An MCU-focus would be awesome! And even bringing in the Top 3 along with the regular Top 10 would be appreciated. We all know #1 is Darcy, but it's always good to see Kat Dennings.
