At D13 Toys, we are thrilled to announce our latest endeavor: the “NIPPON ADVENTURES” 1/12 scale action figure line, a captivating tribute to the rich and storied history of feudal Japan across its many iconic eras.

This toy line will transcend the conventional, venturing far beyond just the typical samurai warlords, ninja, and ashigaru figures. While these classics will certainly be included, our ambitious vision is to deliver an unparalleled collection for enthusiasts and collectors alike, celebrating Japan’s unique cultural heritage. Alongside historically accurate depictions of shinobi (ninja), samurai, ronin, monks, bandits, peasants, merchants, geisha, and more, we will also bring to life mythical beings from Japanese lore, including yokai, kami, and yurei (ghosts)! Our goal is to provide collectors with the potential for some true 1/12 scale “world building” within Feudal Japan and beyond.

Furthermore, we are excited to explore licensing opportunities with select Japanese films and TV shows, enhancing the depth and appeal of this line for dedicated fans of both Japanese history and Jidageki cinema!

“NIPPON ADVENTURES” represents a passionate endeavor for D13 Toys, enriched by the expertise of team members who’ve studied Japanese history and even some hailing from Japan itself. Building on the success and insights gained from our acclaimed “BIBLICAL ADVENTURES” line, D13 Toys is poised to deliver an exciting, diverse, and meticulously crafted range of figures that honor one of the world’s most fascinating cultures and its vibrant historical tapestry.

Woof, Biblical Adventures was very tastefully done so I’m not worried about the actual content, but this sounds like the wording a bunch of Weebs and a their one second generation Japanese immigrant friend defending their live action Naruto fan film as “authentic”… again, I’m not worried about it because the Bible stuff was super well researched and artful, just ugh… the wording on this could have been better.

Looking forward to see what they make given all the sources they pulled from for the Biblical Adventures, there’s a lot of great paintings they can pull from for yokai, ghost, and samurai so it’ll be interesting to see what comes from this!

Yeah, I read that as justifying their credentials as not being "we watched some movies", but still, it comes across a bit as you say. But like you I felt they did enough on the Biblical Adventures products that made me think they will research stuff and be respectful, so I am going to give them the benefit of the doubt - and I will withhold judgement on the accuracy, in part because I am not enough of an expert to know the difference anyway.

They will be using the same bucks and hands as from the BA line, but hope to add a couple of new bucks (female, maybe a bulkier body).

Ooh. That's exciting. This could be really cool.

Resident weeaboo checking in here. I'm less interested in generic samurai, ninjas, or ashigaru, but if these are specific characters like Goemon, Shoki the Demon Queller, or Oiwa, then you have my attention. I love yokai, but part of what makes them great is their variety, which I think this line might struggle to depict if they want to reuse their existing bucks and hands.
