Harvinger Studios, Savage Crucible

Based on my understanding of what they said in the pre-zolocon livestream, wave 3, Elric, and Death Dealer will be the last figures to come with a card, while Brynyar, wave 4, and the other drop figures this year will definitely have a weapon and a loot bag but no card. They didn't make it explicitly clear as far as I could tell whether Death Dealer, Elric, and wave 3 will have the loot bag alongside their card and weapon.
Oh, so the loot bags are going to be coming with figures from now on? Nice.
Thanks for the info.

Got my Warhorse! Got my Warhorse!

Also if the Card that comes with Death Dealer is the same as the one at Zolocon it will be about the painting and not a DnD card like in the past. I don't believe the said if a Gold Loot Bag will be included with Warhorse.

I really want the warhorse, but I'm not sure I can bring myself to drop that kinda money on it. It looks fantastic & will make for a great looking display, but that's a tough pill to swallow.

Me, I knew I would regret it later if I didn't get it now. Especially after seeing Death Dealer on his War Horse posed like the painting at Zolocon. I won't even be displaying his with my other toys, but with my books. It's so nice looking they earned an upgrade from barbarian toy to literary character.

If you can get it I recommend it. If you can't, you can't. There will be pictures. Just don't get desperate and collect Loosecollectors.

I've decided to pass on it for now... really gotta limit the huge expensive stuff where I can. The 4H Headless Horseman horse I already have will be good enough for me when I need Death Dealer on a horse. Gotta leave space for the 4 goddamn polar bears I'll probably end up with when the silver warrior comes out.

I've seen the Fish horse up close at Zolocon, and I've owned one the 4H horses, and I honestly think there is no contest. The Fish horse is more muscular, more articulate, and can actually rear back on its hind legs without a stand and hold that pose. And I really think it can still do it with Death Dealer on there, and I am excited to try. I honestly think the Fish toys is better for what Savage Crucible is trying to accomplish with this figure. Having seen Savage Crucible's Death Dealer on his Warhorse in person, I would have nothing but buyer's remorse and feel noting but regret if I had passed on pre-ordering it.

If a horse ever comes 'round again later, I may consider grabbing one. For now, I actually passed on Death Dealer and have no need for his horse. I could use it for other figures, but I don't -need- to and I think that's as good a reason as any to stop convincing myself to spend money I shouldn't be spending.

It rarely works out when I tell people how to spend their money.

I wouldn't get the horse if I wasn't getting Death Dealer either. But I am getting Death Dealer and I do think the horse and figure compliment each other so very amazingly.

But the horse is not nice enough for a purchase in itself for the most part. If you are a big horse fan, definitely. If you are a big Death Dealer fan, or even just really like him, then definitely. I see it as more of a display item or unconventional diorama piece. And not everyone needs a diorama piece.

I do though.

Don't misunderstand me. I'm only mentioning this because I -was- strongly considering grabbing the horse just to use with other figures. But ultimately the price is just too high for me to grab it unless I have a good reason to want it beyond 'ooh, horsie!' If I were getting Death Dealer, I feel like the horse would be unassailable as a necessity.
Hell, even not getting Death Dealer was a -decision- for me. I love the look of the figure, but I just never liked the DD stuff as much as the Conan and other stuff, so I had to draw a line somewhere for the sake of my bank account.

Completely get it. I actually have pretty strict rules about what I collect, to ideally stop me from spending money on everything shiny that catches my eye. I also have a rule that for every figure that comes in one goes out. It doesn't always happen, but 19 out of 20 it does. Today I decided to get rid of a two shelves, so almost 18 figures came off the shelves. I'll be getting them ready to donate or sell tomorrow. Also if it can't be display it can't be bought. Nothing in storage.

I understand we need to draw lines for our collections; for space, for money, for display. I'm curious what other people's lines are. What are the rules we have for ourselves, the ones that only make sense to us but others would still get why we have them?

I have one of the Fish Toys horses already and your impression of it is correct, it is extremely superior to the 4H horses. But my collection sadly doesn't have room for a second black slightly-demonic 1:12 scale horse. Especially since Death Dealer's most iconic mounted pose is extremely neutral and well within the capabilities of the 4H one.

I've had the Fish Toys wolf figure for years and sadly he has sat in a box for most of that time, which has made me more hesitant to buy these big creatures that basically require a full shelf dedicated to them. There's still a chance I'll change my mind if my local toy importer ends up getting it and I'm in a better position financially at that time.

We've had two lengthy discussions on the subject.
