Super 7 Ultimates Thread

Yeah, I don't think re-do's will be primarily budget related, just that mining what amounts to D-list Thundercats characters and beyond will likely bring diminishing returns, so a return to main characters is likely inevitable.
 
Three figure waves make sense if they're running low on characters, though price probably has as much to do with it as anything. It wasn't that long ago a four figure wave from Super7 cost its consumer $190. Now, a three figure wave will cost that same consumer $195 and come with fewer items and is probably a less desirable character because all of the heavy hitters (and even much of the supporting cast) has already been made.
 
I honestly can't think of any more asks I have for Thundercats, since I am not collecting teams like the Berserkers or Lunataks. I hope those get completed for anyone who is completing those teams. For Silverhawks, I could honestly end right here, but would probably PO both Poker Face and Yes Man if they decide to make them. I'd also like a huge roided-out Mumbo Jumbo. The figure we got is too small for what I picture.

I wish GI Joe continued. I just removed all of them from my display to make room for the new Silverhawks figures. But there are just a handful I'd still love to have. Shipwreck, Tomax and Xamot, maybe Alpine and Bazooka, Firefly. I'm honestly surprised that line didn't continue, though I'm sure Classified satisfies way more people with the 1:12 itch for these characters. 1:10 has never been as popular as 1:12.
 
So if Super7 is going to continue with Thundercats deep cuts, by far my biggest want is Zaxx.

I love that character design so much. He'd be insanely expensive since they'd have to tool a 4 armed torso AND wings (which could clip into the harness rather than be anchored in the figure's back).

But what a fantastic figure that would make.

Another character that I'd welcome is Ta-She. She also has a mildly egyptian looking headdress but otherwise would be easy to make using existing parts and overlays.

Lynxana from the Star Comics run would be awesome.

If they wanted to get cheeky they could do King Arthur... I'd buy it.

I think we will probably get Turmagar the Tuska Warrior... since there was a Tuska Warrior in the vintage line. Though I'd prefer it look like the toy and not the cartoon - which is just a walrus wearing a tutrtleneck and overcoat.

Honestly still really hoping they decide to do Snow Meow, but not holding my breath.

Yeah, Turmagar seems like a lock, and a Tuska Warrior to go with him would work, too. If the line can get to those two, a few more Berbils, and finish the Berserkers and Lunataks, it's really way more complete than anyone ever hoped.

That said, Snow Meow is my #1 want. I just don't want to think of the price tag... (Might have to buy a Lynxana, too, if they ever got there.)

According to Bryan at Toy Fair, Mumm-Ra is all new with a new wired cloak as well. If I'm remembering one of the walk through videos of Pixel Dan's I watched.
 
OMG... I asked for Zaxx and immediately they reveal him. Yeah, 3/4 of this wave is an instant purchase.

And that Mumm-Ra has to be new tooling. He was part of the Mattel toolset that S7 no longer has access to.

Thats why we already got new Lion-O, new Panthro (soon, w/ Tank), new kittens... so new Mummy Mumm-Ra isn't that shocking.

I do like that they put the posessed Wizz-Ra head in with Mumm-Ra. Makes me at least consider getting him. Maybe if he makes it to discount.

And the wave is 3 deep cuts and one mainstay. Taking Wizz-Ra out of the equation since we know he's a holdover from the previous wave, this may be the formula... two deep cut world builders and one main cast member... I expect a single carded Panthro will be coming in wave 16 or 17.

But I am indeed psyched for Zaxx!

Wow... this wave is already up for order at Super7... probably won't be listed at BBTS until this evening... still thats a fast turn around from reveal to go live.

And I know I said it yesterday, but even so the $85 asking price for Zaxx stings. Its $10 per extra arm.
 
That's a nice looking wave. Zaxx is a surprise, congrats to PantherCult on calling him. Definitely not great on the price. Glad to see most of the alternate heads are actually visibly different instead of the barely different look like with Jagara.

Glad I have the first Mumm-Ra release (and the GITD exclusive) because I don't know that I would want to pay $65US (almost $90Cdn) for him today. He is tempting due to the updates, but I am good with what I have.
 
Yeah... the Mumm-Ra is really trying to get me to pay $65 for that Wizz-Ra alt head... but I didn't like the gimmick on Pumm-Ra so I'm not going for it here.

Also, and this has nothing to do with Super7's execution, but it always bugged me that Jagara has no features that read feline. Her name clearly delineates she is a Thundercat but all of the other 'Cats have features that suggest their feline nature... but Jagara could as easily be Frosta's ancestor as Jaga's

Also, BBTS has the preorder up now.

I also got an e-mail from Super7 trying to convince me I need to hurry because stock numbers for Zaxx are 'linited'

"Pissesed"? And the character's name is "Wizz-Ra"? I'm not that familiar with Thundercats outside of the core cast...is this a urine themed villain?
 
I was so ready for a Zaxx, and I think it looks like crap. Sure these are just renders, but Zaxx was only in 2 scenes in one episode. So he needs to look cool standing there. As of now the only thing that looks cool to me is that he has 4 arms. I'll give it a chance until the actual figure shows up, but he looks very dull and unimposing for a 4 armed winged bird man that literally stood toe to toe with Mumm-ra.
