General Marvel Legends

I wanted to take some time to reflect before I really got into it.

I'll start with the negative.
  • I have concerns about Magik's hip range. If that's the old teen body, it's going to be terrible. The promo pics aren't inspiring much confidence.
  • Every figure should have butterfly joints in 2026.
  • Part of me wishes she wasn't on a teen body. Illyana has been an adult for a while now, and she's worn this costume and its derivatives as an adult. That said, I think if you're doing the classic New Mutants, they have to be teenagers.
Overall, I think they crushed it. While I didn't like the head at first, it's grown on me. The metal arm looks fantastic. They gave her an appropriate sword!

Between this and the Marvel Rivals-inspired custom I have planned, I'm finally set on Yana.

I didn't mind this. The line wouldn't last this long without onboarding new collectors.

My guess is they're in totally different buildings.
Ummm... in that third pic is Magik attacking pelvis-first? Is this Limbo style?

I actually have a preference.

Goodbye, ToyBiz Falcon. We've been together a long time. But now it's time for you to go to that sweet action figure home up in the sky.

For pre-1990's Avengers, I don't think we really need that much anymore. An improved Yellowjacket, improved first appearance Hercules, a Perez era Beast, Stingray, classic Moondragon, Mantis, Swordsman, Two-Gun Kid, Whizzer, Rick Jones, Jarvis ...

Well, I guess we still need a few.

... Firebird (joined 1987), Dr. Druid (1987) and, um... JIM HAMMOND!!!!! (1989)

Promo pics of the Secret Wars wave.

The red c-clip on Redwing is insane. This screams "safety standard" to me, where pieces below a certain size can't be translucent or something. That, or Redwing has a rarely-used flaming bird dropping maneuver they were trying to show off.

Yeah, that’s a weird call. I’ll definitely have to figure an alternative.

One thing I saw on Marvelousnews was mention that Daredevil has his clubs that can be joined to make a staff, but also that he comes with a ‘cable line’. I can’t see this in any of the images - is it an error in the description?

What exactly would constitute a running hand? I feel like, as someone who runs fairly regularly (outside of this winter because it's been god damn brutally cold), my hands are anywhere between a c-grip and loose like this figure has.

Also known as "knife hands" it's the hand sculpt most often omitted from running and flying characters in Marvel Legends. Never seen anyone run with a C-grip unless they're holding something or a Lego.

Okay, that’s the picture I needed to see. The white and red costume details on the butterfly joints will line up properly in a static pose. I couldn’t tell what was going on with the other promo pics. I’m in.

Why didn't they just do a detachable forearm cover like they did with Maximum Spidey's webshooters. The Vulcan body's arms are built in with that marked line on them innately. Having the falcon itself bonded with the arm piece would have looked better than bright red plastic up the A.

All I see is Ronald McDonald's shoes every time I look at this one's feet.

I mean i never said i was going to the olympics, but it's just keeping my hands loose with a slight bend in the fingers..

Are you talking about this shitty flat hand? That feels way too stiff.

A lot of runners have their hands like that when they sprint hard. And they get drawn like that in the comics as well.

I wasn’t a big fan of the Crossing storyline, but I did like the costumes, so I’m in for Black Widow and Quicksilver, but I’m going to play the long game on that one. I hope we’re still getting the leaked Vision and Scarlet Witch in those costumes as well.
