Four Horsemen Studios Mythic Legions

As someone who never understood the appeal of Zoloworld in the first place (the production quality of an official 80s MotU figure, but with the limited production assets and constrained creativity of a Mexican MotU bootleg), this just bounces right off me.
 
Oooh the knees do look bad. I was distracted by all the various specifically-my-aesthetic details and totally missed how ass they look.
 
After a small lull at work, I finally got round to my brother-in-law's for a painting session and now I have that ice skeleton I've been dreaming of.

I wish the Horsemen would do more with translucent parts like that. I love the effect Marley had going from invisible to solid. Quoi’s fins turned out really nice too. Jersey Devil’s wings plused up that old sculpt too. With having a few recent waves set in cold environments it’s disappointing to not see some more ‘ice’ effects or characters in the mix.
 
So this is just a dumb little story:

I think it’s a well known fact (if not just a poorly kept open secret) the Horsemen base unmasked heads on celebrities. (For example they’ve said in interviews DC Classics Catwoman was Angelina Jolie and that the recent old white man Mythic Paladin was the Crusader from Indiana Jones)

This isn’t a gotcha or a slam on them, it’s better than doing a generic face and unlike some comic books where you can see that Harley Quinn is just someone inking over stills from the Barbie movie, at least the 4H are styling them (Mythic heads are a little wider with bigger eyes and slightly cartoonish hair) so it’s not like a NECA accurate celebrity wearing a costume on your shelf…

Anyway! So in the recent in stock sale I got two more Tharices because she’s one of my favorite figures in the line and two more for fodder while she’s still at original retail price was a good deal… so my wife says to be “Since you like her so much I should draw her for you, what celebrity did they base her face on so I can look for reference?”

And you know, I never considered that before, so I look at Tharice’s head from a couple angles to see if I can tell, and shape of her nose are brow are unmistakable; she’s Lindsay Lohan

I looked up some screen shots to see if I was crazy and the way the hair on the unhooded head falls over her shoulders Tharice is SPECIFICALLY Mean Girls Lindsay Lohan.

I just found that funny of all the cinematic characters in the world to use as the basis for your half-ghost wizard they went with Cady Heron (now I need to get a hold of that Epic HACKS blue skeleton’s accessories so Tharice can carry around a literal Burn Book)
 
I see Dorklair Bill in the Paladin sculpt but that may be more to do with the beard’s black and grey paint up than actual likeness to him. I don’t see Connery in Enoch either. Maybe more the Templar Knight from Last Crusade but again, maybe it’s the context doing that. I really haven’t noticed the likenesses but maybe now I will that I know that’s a thing.
