X-Men '97

Which makes it all the more frustrating that they didn't give him something better representing his powers.
Agreed. I do not associate these fireballs with Sunspot, so I don't even bother to use them with him.

I mean, Bryan Singer just turned Roberto into the Human Torch in DoFP, so it isn't the first time an official representation hasn't understood his powers.

(I LOVED New Mutants, and despite the super problematic "he isn't a dark enough Brazilian" complaints from old school fans, at least they did a pretty decent representation of him being A "sunspot"...)

*I get that Roberto isn't supposed to be as light-skinned as Zaga, but come on, people, you can't tell a person of color that they're "not dark enough," ESPECIALLY if you're fucking white.

This is 2025 America. Apparently we can? I've seen people get away with worse.

Im not advocating for it. I'm just saying, people get away with shit. Fuckin Nazis.

After some kit-bash tinkering, I've discovered that the new claw hands from Tiger Stripe '97 Wolverine match the First Appearance 2 Pack Wolverine - and the Love Triangle 3 pack Wolverine yellows are a close enough match to make a comic aesthetic Wolverine using the '97 body.

This pleases me.

Received QuickKick and he does work pretty well for a more muscular comic-esque basketball Remy. The hands that come with Gambit have longer pegs than QK's arm sockets allow for so they will have to be trimmed a bit. The wrist cuffs that come on QK are NOT removable so Gambit's cuffs will not work on it unless you grind down the tips of the forearms, or repaint them like Gambit's cuffs that he comes with (likely the route I'll go).

QuickKick's pants can have the pattern on the hips removed if you want a Gambit that just rolled out of bed or looking like he's been training in the gym, they're more or less just sweatpants, he comes with a built in belt but if anyone knows a GI Joe overlay for a pelvis that's straight black and looks like it could be sweatpants, by all means let me know.

This custom will take some effort, but the skin tone matches pretty well, the head pops on the peg without issue and isn't loose, so that's "half the battle" as the Joe's like to say.

At this point I wish they just wouldn't even bother with heels. I'd rather have flats even if it's not accurate to the source material. Or like I said in the Neca thread, give them clown shoes. Neca's Art won't fall over for anything.
Totally agree! I’d be very happy if they would never put heels on action figures again. Flats all the way.

Has anyone swapped heads between the two-pack Wolverine and the Secret Wars Wolverine? Do the skin tones match?

They don't.

But you can get away with it.
Are there any pictures here? I went back several pages and couldn’t find any.
BBTS has Secret Wars Logan on sale, and I want to get an extra one to pop one of the extra 2-pack heads onto it.
Thanks!

Sounds like something Robo would do. I know he reviewed the whole set of two-packs so it might be worth looking for on YouTube.

I flipped my Storm and Wolvie set and appear to have cleared the photos.

Don't forget today's the last day to order Apocalypse. Surely some will be available to order for whoever upon release, but if you don't wanna risk it, now's your chance.
