Super 7 Ultimates Thread

Slythe was in my top ten figures the year he was released. Such a great figure, and an example of when Super7 can really get it right.

Yeah he is definitely one of the better Thundercats Ultimates figures. As you said, when Super7 gets it right, they really do get it right.

So I think the Slythe mold has paid for itself by now with the Ultimates figure and then the three reptile generics they sold using the same mold... they could probably justify the Deluxe cost for him.

Panthro is one I'm not sure they can do as a Deluxe because I don't think they have a Panthro mold to re-use. They lost, or lost access to, the original Mattel nolds they used for wave 1. They had to rebuild Lion-O from scratch. That was justified because they were doing the Ultimates Light up eyes Lion-O and this new crown and cape Lion-O, so they get to reuse the parts in Ultimates as well as produce the Deluxe figure.

For Panthro they would have to reengineer that figure to make him again as a Deluxe since there isn't an existing mold. They would only do that if they thought they could get another Ultimates run out of it, I imagine.

Its why we may not see Deluxe Jackalman either. At least not soon.

We're likely to get Deluxe Jaga or Bengali before Panthro, though.

Meanwhile... I stopped by my third different Target this week looking for Tygra or Cheetara... no joy at any of them I did see Lion-O at two of the stores.

There is a new Jackalman mold, though. It was revealed a little while back with the skycutter.

That, if course, is its own reason for not getting a deluxe version, so I can't fully disagree with you.

It amazes me that people don’t buy the Turtles in a complete set. I understand people have a favorite. But to me, these only work as a unit. And for Super7 to have released them, all four, at once? Instead of spreading them out between waves? It’s just asking for the full set purchase! I was tempted, but now, knowing one is not available? I absolutely would not buy the rest.

100% me right there. I have to buy the turtles as a set. It's why I never bought the Neca toon Samurai Mikey pack because I wanted the other 3 in Samurai gear too.

I've only bought a single Turtle from a set before. I can't speak for others, but for myself it's because I have a favorite Turtle, so if I'm buying non-essentials (variant groups, figures from lines I otherwise don't collect, etc), I'm more than okay just having my -favorite- Turtle.

For example, for actual vintage toys, I only have regular Leo and Sewer Samurai Leo. Don't even own any other Turtles from the vintage line anymore. From the newer cartoon I have Leo. Leo is also the figure I own the most variants of in both Super7 and NECA product. If I were to ever break down and buy a 2000-era figure (probably won't), I'd just grab a Leo and call it good.
So maybe Raph tends to be a fan favorite and some people think the same way I do and thought 'I'll just grab Raph for my collection and that will represent the 2000 series on my shelf well enough.'

Has anyone who ordered deluxe Cheetara from Target.com received her? Mine is still listed as backordered, which always feels like a death knell.
