Selling Toys - Horror Stories & "Happy" Customers

You should block that buyer. What's their name? I'm gonna block 'em too.

EDIT: They're/their. I used to spit on people like this, and now I've done it twice in the last 24 hours. And both ways (they're for their, then their for they're).
juanasamaniego is their name. Hadn't looked before, but they're apparently in Peru; had their account since 2021, but only have 6 feedback scores, though 100% positive. Still, maybe I dodged a bullet anyway. I never have good luck when sending something out of the US, even when ebay takes care of it. It's all good; I ain't stressing.

Best case scenario for me when sending something our of the US, I'm only shitting bricks for a month.

Thank you! I know chances are low they would wanna buy one of my things as well, but I don't believe in taking chances.

I have my stuff open to the Ebay Global Ship program, but if anyone contacts me from a country or wanting something outside that program, I just say no. Not worth it.

I can't understand how Ebay sides with the buyer in these situations. It's clearly complete fraud - and if it's not on the buyer's side, then someone messed with one of Ebay's sellers who they should also want to protect.

I finally got my Ebay issue resolved that I started recounting in the start of this thread to my satisfaction when USPS finally found and delivered the package. Had to call Ebay, get transferred for them to close the issue - and I still haven't gotten the money back in my account that Ebay froze. But, at least I "won".

Listing for Gamerverse Venom

"Does this include captain America"
"No."
"Just venom."
"Just Venom.'
"Only Venom, no captain America?"

I've had this up all week, 11 "I'll be there tomorrows" with no follow ups so I'm feeling saucy.

"Look, I'm just curious if you saw a listing for Venom and clicked it expecting anything other than Venom.

Did you really think you were going to get the sold out two pack that just came out a week ago for half price when everyone else is asking $60+ on top of retail?"

No response.

Real "why you kick my dog" energy.

People like this it’s like how do they get through a normal day

This may be the only instance of ebay siding with the seller that I've seen. It's why I won't sell on ebay any longer.
I'm a few weeks late seeing this, but I agree. Honestly, I think the only thing that saved me on it was the buyer leaving positive feedback the night he got the figure in the mail, and then waited a week to raise an issue. Ebay saw that as a little shady on his part. If it hadn't been for that feedback, I'd have been kinda screwed because I'd already spent the money lol

It was a good lesson to wait a bit before putting the cash toward something else.

Not exactly a customer, but I had someone today send a message about some Nightmare Before Christmas popcorn buckets I'm trying to sell. They asked if I have a lot of Halloween stuff for sale, because if not, they have a bunch of stuff they need gone, and I can sell it for them. I wasn't gonna answer, but I tried to be nice and just say I'm not looking to split profit with anyone, just in case of disagreement, and they responded with "Oh no, I didn't mean to split, I just meant you could sell it for me if you already have the supplies". I didn't respond.

Not really a horror story at all but I have a Black Series, 1/12 scale Jedha Patrol Trooper pauldron listen and a woman just messaged me asking if it will fit a child as she wants one for her son's Halloween costume. I told her only if her son is six inches tall.

Not related to any specific person on either end of a deal, but tangentially related here: I fucking hate Canada.

CanadaPost is on strike, AGAIN, because they're never fucking happy.* Which means no sales outside my immediate area since shipping even within Canada using the big for-profits is absolutely atrocious. Nobody is going to pay 20 bucks for an action figure and 48 dollars in shipping.
Thing is, my entire city is absolute trash for toy collecting to begin with. On top of that, the conservatives have control of this province and have basically bankrupted everyone that wasn't clearing six figures. Not getting into the politics of it, but it's a for really real problem that's resulted in most people just not having the kind of spending money that is good for local toy sales.

Sooo.... I literally cannot sell anything online right now unless I find a buyer that wants to drastically overpay for shipping. And I can't sell locally because no one is buying anything locally. It's exceptionally frustrating. Especially right now with so much new stuff coming out that I was really hoping I could finally get rid of some older stuff to make room and get some extra cash together so I don't have to be quite so choosy.

*I think everyone here by now knows I am a pro-union, pro-worker comrade that thinks everyone deserves more and better than they get from wherever they work in 99% of cases. But the CanadaPost union is fucking ridiculous. They really do come off like a pissy child having a tantrum because basically the first recourse is 'we're going on a random strike that you had a week's notice on.' And they're doing it in a climate where a lot of people (conservatives -- always name the problem) want CanadaPost gone or fully privatized. Going on strike and absolutely infuriating the entire country is 100% not the way to go about things. They actually just came back from their last strike, which they did during Christmas time.
So we've had a CanadaPost strike during Christmas season, and then another one that popped up with about one week of notice that it was going to happen. Everyone in CanadaPost's union leadership is a fucking idiot. And neither the company nor the union are actually negotiating in good faith, so this just keeps getting kicked down the road. And all it's doing is turning everyone against CanadaPost and all but guaranteeing further crippling of their operations when they come back. Every time they come back from a strike (2011, 2018, 2024, probably now in 2025), they come back weaker with fewer allies outside the union. Fucking imbeciles.

I am sorry for this but also appreciate more ammunition for when my mom says "Maybe we should try Canada."
Legit; I would say Canada is better than the US right now by a large margin. But NOT Alberta. I've said many times on here, and I'm not unique in saying this; Alberta is Canada's Texas. These fucking hillbillies will step on their own dicks in their race to copy everything Republicans do. They're even literally talking about seceding and some go so far as to say we actually should become the 51st state because Donnie is so amazing and wonderful.
This province has been intellectually bankrupted by conservatives for decades and decades and is filled with the Canadian equivalent of pretty much the worst Americans you can think of.

The Post thing is absurd. Here they're also picketing Purolator, so that has delayed their output. I have no sympathy for them anymore.

And it sucks cuz Alberta is beautiful and there are places I wish I could live. But I know I would hate everyone there.
