Yeah. The most recent airlocked friend I didn't know was a moron was because she was decrying the death of free speech while we've got the president and VP telling people to report their friends to the gestapo for not mourning a scumbag visibly enough. Free speech is dead as a black journalist is fired for pointing out what that dead man literally said with his own mouth hole about black women. Free speech has been dead a while, but only for some people. I've been pointing out to some of my older friends who are more vocal about this stuff online that they need to keep an eye on their "friends" who could potentially report them to their employers and just use some fucking situational awareness.
 
They're weaponizing it so well it's like it was planned, but I think also they're reacting the way they are because one of their own pulled the trigger (again) and the usual bleeding hearts who bleed for everyone are like 'pfft whatever.' They've gone from "these pussies will weep for anyone" to "weep for us or lose your job, you bloodthirsty monsters."

They're saying liberals/lefties are bloodthirsty killers, but I think there's a demand there that the people who have stood up for the victims in all things and all times have decided that some victims are beyond their ability to shed a tear for, so we're going full on dictatorial forced national mourning bullshit. They're saying "who?" about a murdered state representative but want everyone else to wail and gnash their teeth about someone they cared about.

Except they are so cognitively dissonant, posting this just makes them go "HAW, HAW, THAT WAS A LIB, YOU STUPID LIB, NICE TRY BLAMING US!!" Like...are you fucking illiterate? Nothing in there say anything close to that.

Then they get super silent when I start in on how I'm not a liberal/leftist/Democrat, and that I'm simply anti-sexism, anti-racism, anti-bigotry, anti-billionaire-bootlicking, and anti-calling yourself a "Christian" while doing everything to the polar opposite of what Christ was actually written to have said, and that everyone guilty of one or more of those things deserves the guillotine, regardless of what political gang they rep, or whether they're a citizen or a politician.
 
I hear you, @TENIME! I have friends who are definitely "liberals", and I'm considered to be a slightly left-of-center guy by most of them. Conservatives, on the other hand, seem to consider me to be a total pinko commie because I say we need to treat people with dignity, and that I think kids shouldn't have to worry about getting shot when they go to school.

Every time I've seen someone respond to that with "you don't care when the shooting victims ARE children," is SO SO GOOD. Also shuts them up.

(And I personally like guns. But I also know the 2A was meant for citizens to protect themselves from fascist dictators like Drumpf not against innocent black people on the streets of Wisconsin, and that that is also completely useless when a drone strike can just erase your house off the face of the planet with the push of a button, so...)
