Star Wars Black Series - The Wishlists

Can't say my wishlists are too different than other people's here. Would absolutely love more Jedi- mostly Saesee Tiin, Agen Kolar, and Barriss Offee (I'd take her in her Jedi attire or Inquisitor attire), Quinlan Vos, Darth Bane, Darth Plagueis. Anyone else is gravy. If we get Saesee and Agen, I'm gonna need an office duel Palpatine too. I'd love a Clone Wars Plo Koon as well; I'm tempted to just get pieces to make my own, but I have a gut feeling they'll release him in the Clones of the Republic line with a new Wolffe/Wolffe Pack member, so I'll be patient.

In no particular order-

Prequels- red dress Amidala, Zam Wessell, Panaka, Typho, Tarpals, Taun We, young Boba, Tarfful, Watto, Bail Organa, Mas Amedda, Nute Gunray, Wat Tambor, Poggle the Lesser, and a basic Geonosian. For funsies, an Elan Sleazebaggano and Baron Papanoida would be a treat.

Animated Shows- Kallus, Hemlock, Emerie, CX-2, AP-5, Embo, Jedi Asajj, Phee, Gungi, Mother Talzin, Seventh Sister, Caleb Dume, Yularen

Original Trilogy- Lobot, Nien Nunb, Dodonna, Mon Mothma, Biggs (preferably his Tosche Station clothes), Porkins, Max Rebo Band (can totally see this being a con exclusive), Oola, Yak Face, Garindan

Sequel Trilogy- TROS Finn, TROS Poe, TROS Palpatine, Knights of Ren, Sidon Ithano, TLJ Leia, Snoke's Attendants (never gonna happen- they were barely on screen, but I think they're so cool looking), Ochi

Games- Cere Junda, Greez, Bode, Ninth Sister, Cordova, Rayvis, Kay Vess & Nix, ND-5, Taron Malicos, Zee, Iden Versio (helmetless)

Stories/Disney+- The Stranger (seriously, where is he?), Cyril Karn, Peli Motto (seriously, where is she?), Mother Aniseya, Mother Korill, Torbin, Night Mothers, Two Tubes, Kino Loy, Nemik, Carson Teva, Khymm

I'm sure there's a metric ton of others I'm forgetting. Gotta say, though, to their credit, Hasbro has really checked off some of my big wants here lately!

I've often thought of going back and switching to 3.75" again for SW specifically, because of how great a job they do with the dio pieces and vehicles and creatures. But then I see the figures and remember how much I dislike Hasbro's 4" SW figures, for the most part.

I have the same thought every so often as well. TVC gets some heckin' cool stuff. I'd love to have some of those playsets (do we still call them "playsets" as adults, or is the official term "dio pieces"?) But then I remember how much of an investment it would be to catch up, and where the heck would I put it all? I can't even contain the stuff I have now. I've picked up a couple TVC figs of some of my favorite characters, mostly for the packaging- they really do have some pretty looking card art.

some of the issues I have with a lot of 3.75in figures are 1) paint/printing on face sculpts can look kinda iffy and 2) sometimes the articulation can look unsightly, depending on the size of the joint/limb. BUT I know that these are issues that are better ameliorated when you are working on a larger canvas (er, figure) and with 3.75in these issues can be hard to avoid.

and not collecting 3.75in also means the need to update your figures comes about less often. of course nobody needs to do this but looking at some of the recent 3.75in stuff would have made it hard for me not to.

side-note: for a few years I used to have a carded collection of 3.75in figures on my wall back when Hasbro was doing the modern-day vintage cards and those were always nice to look at.

I think Lumiya is kinda a must have figure for me. I have imperials on other shelves, but I have one shelf that is strictly Empire, with three spaces left on it for her, Snowtrooper officer, and Death Star Gunner. It would be cool to have that shelf completed.

  1. Bespin Fatigues Luke
  2. ROTS Obi Wan
  3. ROTS Anakin
  4. TPM Qui Gon Jinn
  5. ANH Ben Kenobi
  6. ESB Darth Vader
  7. ESB Boba Fett
  8. AOTC Padme
  9. TPM C3PO
  10. TPM Obi Wan
All brand new figures with top of the line sculpting, likenesses and articulation. All Jedis should come with robes. Hasbro can do some amazing stuff when they actually put the care and attention to detail and design. Some of these characters have figures that are so outdated it's insane they haven't been remade.

If I didn't have/have-preorders for all but 3 of those from SHF/MAFEX my list would look nearly identical. That's a good list.

That's a good list! I hadn't really realized until recently when I was experimenting with posing a bit just how dated the ROTS Anakin and Obi Wan feel. I've been in a ROTS mood lately with the anniversary, and wanted to make a cool little display, but you can't pose either of them in fighting stances that look natural- nothing even remotely close to the newer Jedi like Ki-Adi, Aayla, etc. Obviously we could argue all day about what the coolest or best or most important lightsaber duel is, but the Mustafar Duel is undoubtedly awesome and important, so proper articulation is key. I'm really surprised we've seen as many ROTS anniversary figures as we have without any word on Anakin and Obi Wan. I know it'll happen eventually, but why wait when this is clearly the perfect time?

I'm pretty sure there have been factory leaks of Obi Wan and maybe Anakin, but a few youtubers who follow the leak scene do say they're coming soon. The fact hasbro didn't reveal them in the Star Wars convention this past weekend was very strange to me. But they may be leaving some stuff out for May the Fourth and such.

My want list:

Kay Vess and Nix from Outlaws.
Clone Wars Barriss Offee
Bespin Luke
Face print Jaina Solo reissue
Ep1 Padme in disguise
Ep2 Black Dress Padme
Dark Empire Luke
DE Leia
DE Emperor
Kyle Katarn

this maybe be kinda sacrilegious but I prefer the 6in line to the 3.75in line mostly because I think the figures themselves look better. I am well-aware that switching to 6in meant losing out on a lot of world-building (vehicles, creatures, environments) though there are other lines that satisfy those needs (fingers crossed the Micro Galaxy Squadron diversifies from just vehicles but I can save that for another thread)

if I was going to name one 'want' from the Black Series it would be an update on Jabba's Prisoner Leia though I've reconciled myself that it might be a longshot. disappointing but I'm aware of the context. anyway my more probable top 10:

1. Bespin Gown Leia
2. Ralph McQuarrie Luke
3. Ralph McQuarrie Han
4. Ralph McQuarrie Chewie
5. Ralph McQuarrie C-3PO
6. Ralph McQuarrie R2-D2
7. Death Star Gunner
8. generic Imperial Officer
9. Lobot
10. Max Rebo

yeah I'm one of them OT purists.

quick addendum, just realized we do not have Han in his pre/post carbonite duds, which ought to be an easy figure to produce since it would only need a new torso (and an alternate post-thaw head if you want to be generous). that might be it regarding the essential alternate outfits for the main OT characters.

(though, and I will be real with you all, every time I see someone refer to Slave Leia as 'Sexy Time' Leia, a part of me hopes that Hasbro never revisits that figure just to spite those specific people. very petty but that's how I feel sometimes)

gotta think about what ancillary OT aliens/droids I'd like to see in 1/12 scale. we got a 6in Constable Zuvio, anybody is fair game

I have a new one for my wish list, and it's this supposed potential Jedi Order accessory pack. Apparently it's from some post on Yakface, but it's like a bunch of lightsaber hilts and spare blades. On one level I suppose it'd be functional for folks who have issues with broken blades, but also seems to point to Black Series accessory sets like some of the older 3 3/4 lines and ooh boy I could really get into that. Let me trick out some of my figures with extra goodies.

Oh, and one more for my list that, while technically possible I'll NEVER get, I'd love a Black Series version of the old Swoop bike figure (and Swoop. Loved that design. I guess never say never, we got that Coruscant Guard Luke and I never expected that. Maybe if I wish really hard they'd also produce the concept art Stormtrooper with the lightsaber and shield too.

if it were up to me we'd also see them re-do the McQuarrie Vader and Kenobi that were just inaccurate enough for me to pass up. very low likelihood of that happening but ya can't stop me from dreamin'

Ditto. That set is a bit cheaper now on Amazon and if I had some amazon credit on my card I might grab it. I could use that concept Obi-Wan to make a custom Jedi and that'd be fun. I don't tend to kitbash figures, but ones that are not characters and are just representations of art I feel can exist on my shelf as new characters that I fill in the story for in a galaxy far far away.

Y'know, now that I think about it, I'd like that whole concept series to come to Black Series. I think I might want that more than my previous list.
