Last Movie Watched

That's where I ended up too. I just cannot grasp or reason.

Also, the second worst parents on the documentary, Khloe's mom and dad, were wonderful as well. "Our daughter didn't do this but you should look into one of the many other students she's been bullying the last couple years." And how smug he was when saying he was proud of his wife for victim blaming Lauryn? Jasis Christ.
Lastly, it's not in the documentary but they apparently had another Halloween party and Khloe's mom dressed as Kendra Licari, basically a scarecrow with a prison uniform and phones stuck to her hands. Real classy fucking people, but I see where Khloe learned it from.

Hrm. I'm of two minds about that... I do like endings, BUT... I enjoy these characters....

When it comes to home media, will they rename it Penultimate Rites?

If Warner Brothers (or any studio) suddenly said "we don't care about making money anymore, we're just going to end this series right here because it's the right place to end it", then I'd think there really was demonic possession going on ...

But how can it continue, haven't they run out of true stories to base the movies on? I'd hate for them to start to make things up...
I think there's still plenty, but they did some of the bigger ones. And I haven't seen Last Rites yet but I thought it was their final case, so either they start doing prequels with new cast, do the Indiana Jones thing, or they get pulled out of retirement like a buddy cop movie.

And I'm kinda okay with any of those heh.

In the film, Ed Warren told his potential new son-in-law that he and his wife have worked on thousands of cases.

So yeah, there are stories to be told. There are a lot of artifacts in that museum basement of theirs that they keep locked up for a reason.

Now, do I believe that any of this is real? I think there might be a small kernel of truth to some of it (perception is a funny thing) , but Hollywood likes to put their spin on things to make everything seem more exciting. They can create computer generated images now so they may as well do it to sell more tickets.

So obviously the Conjuring movies are wildly exaggerated. But they're fun. There's nothing wrong with a good scare. And that's why I go see scary movies. To have fun.

Exactly on all that. Even in the first conjuring movie, their basement already had tons of stuff. And I also don't believe any of it but enjoy the hell out of the movies anyway. I'm not watching them for real life! Even movies that put a lot of effort into capturing a real event aren't gonna get it right.

Precisely.

I mean, there's a time for the serious award winning movies made by auteur directors that get standing ovations at film festivals all over the world.

And there's a time for summer popcorn movies. I like both, but sometimes I just want to shut my brain off and have some fun. There's nothing wrong with that.

I still think the Warrens would have made an outstanding HBO series. Even just six episodes a season for five seasons or something

It wouldn't surprise me if Ed and Lorraine's daughter and son-in-law take up the family business with the church's blessing.

Don't read that until after you see the film, Ru.
