Most Wanted 1/12 scale figures

SEGA is in too deep with Good Smile. The $10 Jakks releases are surprisingly decent, but I'd much rather see something in the $30-45 range from Jada or Storm. Even new Figmas would be something. I want the Yakuza 4 from Yakuza 4 in matching suits.

I would definitely buy a well done 1/12 Buffy line. The old toys while fun, just aren't very good especially to today's standards. But if they made a new line, I'd buy it. And maybe we'll get it. With the new Buffy show coming, maybe someone will make a figure line that could have both new and Classic characters and looks.

I'd definitely be interested in a good 1/12 Buffy line. I never got the original figures because they just weren't great. I was VERY tempted, because I wanted figure representation of the show, but I just couldn't pull the trigger.
Also, only way I could see a Cerebus figure getting made is if it's by some Comicsgate bozos like EVS, since that guy's friends with him. And if that's the case, fuck buying it. Though, frankly, fuck buying anything with Dave Sim's name attached to it anyways.
So much this. Sim devolved into a truly loathsome individual, much like EVS. At one point, I would really have loved Cerebus and Cyberfrog figures, as I really enjoyed both comics in their early days, but Sim and EVS sank into misogynistic, hate-filled philosophies. Oh, and the fact that Sim is an admitted groomer is a deal-breaker alone (and the fact that EVS stays friends with him in spite of this makes him equally repugnant). Fuck all those Comicsgate creeps. They can all go straight to Hell.

Didn't know about this Dave Sim controversy.
Never meet your heroes...

I just read up on some of this history on LiterateMachine, and wow! I still collected, but stopped reading Cerebus before "Mothers and Daughters" and it looks like I got out just before Sim started to go full "anti-feminist." Too bad when these artists go off the deep end, but I guess it's better than if they never revealed their insanity. "Church & State" and "High Society" were awesome.

I don't know, I've met some of my heroes, no complaints there. And the dead ones sound cool as hell; Rod Serling alone convinced me to never let anyone get away with that, "they were just a product of their time" jazz. I think people tend to show you who they are pretty readily and we just have too many mechanisms to let them avoid accountability for it. If Dave Sim was still anybody's hero even after the way his works changed to incorporate his philosophy of misogyny, an aspect of his work that was widely, publicly discussed and criticized by his contemporaries as far back as 30+ years ago to the extent that he challenged Jeff Smith to a boxing match over it, then that person probably either hates women just as much or just really likes aardvarks a whole lot. I'd tell them to watch PBS, but I guess Arthur's record with women isn't spotless either.

I kind of enjoy that whenever Mad Max comes up as a possibility everyone seems to have quietly agreed to forget the N2 Road Warrior line ever happened. They had such great licenses and such bad figures.

I only ever saw the Buffy movie when I was a kid, but rewatched it last night and am about to start the show today. I'll likely agree to wanting toys of it once I get through a season or two.

With its reboot on the way, and also The X-Files reboot on the way... would now be a better time than ever to bring out toylines of both shows?

Didn't know there was an X-Files reboot in the works. After the last season of the revived series, I'm skeptical at best. Is it Chris Carter, David Duchovny, Gillian Anderson, et all? Or is this a hard reboot?

It's the next major project of Ryan Coogler. The only statement from the original cast is from Gillian Anderson, who expressed outright faith in Coogler's work and said she told him to call her. Carter is also all for the new show, from the statements I've seen. Carter did use the word "spin-off", so it may have the chance of bringing back Mulder, Scully, etc... though I'm completely content if the main leading cast is new. The world's changed a lot since the show aired, after all.

Updated lines for:
Game of Thrones

New lines:
True Blood (I am completely serious)
Scream (not just Ghostface)

It's WILD to me how hard McFarlane dropped the ball on the Game of Thrones line. That and the Harry Potter lines were guaranteed moneymakers that could've lasted for years if done right due to the huge roster of characters in both franchises. All things considered, the figures were pretty okay- at least more sturdy than Funko's stab at action figures. I know some of it was just victim of circumstance- he got them out around the time the show ended and fans were pissed at the ending, but still. We didn't even get all the mainest of main characters- no Tyrion, for instance. Luckily, the old Funko Legacy line scales somewhat well with them, so I have my old Tyrion chilling with the rest of them. Still, the fact that characters like Cersei have never gotten a 1/12 scale figure feels wild. Funko, obviously has gotten the deepest cast roster with their lineup, and the Dark Horse statues were pretty nice too, just lacking poseability. Threezero were great, but overpriced for most collectors. All McFarlane seems to do with the license now is churn out a couple dragons every now and then and those odd collector's box things centering around a single character.

I'd happily take a Scream line. BlainerThings did a mockup of a theoretical Scream 1 line a few years back, and they got me really wanting a real one. We just need more Final Girls in general- obviously we have an older Laurie, but Sidney absolutely deserves one, and I'd happily take a Gale, Dewey, and Randy as well. Yeah, likeness rights for actors are more expensive than just copying a mask or creature design, but still- for something as iconic and beloved as the Scream franchise, I feel like they'd sell pretty well.

I feel like I'd unironically take a True Blood line as well. Wouldn't need to go too deep- I'd be content with just a couple waves of the biggest characters, but I'd absolutely take a Lafayette and Pam if no one else.

I'm totally down for a new X-Files, especially after what Coogler did with Sinners. Feels like it's been a bit since we've had a paranormal procedural on the telly (though, admittedly, I never got into Supernatural). I'd be fine with them bringing back Mulder and Scully for small roles here and there, but I don't need them to be the main characters. Though one thing I'm not looking forward to is the inevitable vitriol when the cast is announced and people see *gasp* people of color. Bracing myself now for all the "Not MY X-Files!" posts.

I got into Supernatural until the show ended with season five... But don't end and I'm kinda glad I didn't continue with it since it went on another decade after that! I'm sure it still had great episodes, like the fun meta ones, but 15 seasons is a lot for a show I only kinda enjoyed.

I wasn't hugely into XFiles at the time, but also the way shows are done now has changed massively since the original series, so I would expect more overall plot and less monster-of-the-week. But I'm definitely into giving that and the new Buffy a shot
