Let the argument over whether Dexter would be a Joe or a Cobra begin!!

(The correct answer is: a Joe, until they figured out what he was up to . . . unless he infiltrated Cobra to, er, clean it up from the inside)

It’s the code names that Hasbro uses for these: they frequently use cartoon character names to conceal the actual product names. “Dexter” is probably a reference to “Dexter’s Laboratory” but Dexter Morgan is funnier.

Jeez, thank you for explaining the code name I myself posted..no sarcasm, I'm being utterly serious, it went over my head. Thank you. Now I can laugh AND feel dumb heh.

Looks to be.

Looking at the Major Bludd render compared to the CI figure, it looks like they're going with a different base body. I think it was a Cobra trooper body before. The render looks a lot smoother. Now I'm torn if I want to update the one I have.
 
Hadn't heard the Mercer figure was going to be part of a two-pack. For some reason I really latched onto Mercer's action figure as a kid so I'm really looking forward to him, but I don't really need another Sarge. Rare grumble from me about this line that it's a two pack.

Yeah, I saw that too. I was on the fence, but I’ll probably end up getting him and mashing him up with the CI version like I did with Zartan especially if the brown on the retro is brighter. I’ll take the arm and armor from the CI version, try to make him as similar to the vintage look as I can.

I didn't even notice that or think to look, just assumed he was a straight repaint. Now I'm even happier! Heh.

I have no Slaughter, so I'm kinda okay with the set. Sympathizer Slaughter is kinda cool to me too heh... I dunno, I was never into the character as a kid, partly because my cousin was NUTS for wrestling and so I probably turned my nose up at it in response.

But I'm sure if you get the set, you won't have trouble selling the Slaughter off.
 
Even I, a non-wrestling guy, recognize the hilariously ill-conceived “sided with Saddam” look for thr Sarge. Unfortunate wackiness aside, I actually dig a more duty-oriented look for Slaughter and I even like the beret! All in all he’s kind of giving Col. Kilgore from Apocalypse Now on steroids, which is weird for a “good guy” but I’m here for it.
Although . . . it would be a wild swing to have Slaughter defect to Cobra and have Mercer, a former Viper rehabbed by Slaughter himself, tasked with bringing him in.
Heh, now I have a storyline.
Groovy.
 
That's the trouble with all you guys, for me. I come in here and see your head canons, your stories of why that guy was your favorite forty years ago, or some other awesome aspect I can latch onto, and now I'm really into that figure.
 
I will say, I'm not a Slaughter fan really, but the figure they made of him already is toyetic AF. He's a lot of fun to pose.
 
Same. I always hated how overpowered he was in the old cartoon, and thought he was a total square. But I like his figure(s) so far. Speaking of the newest figure/prototype, is that just the Heavy Duty upper body? Not that I'm complaining, it just finally dawned on me, most of us probably missed it because he's not in our hands yet.
