General Marvel Legends

If you think we're negative, you should see YouTube, Reddit, and Instagram.

I never know what to do with these discussions. We have the complainers and then people complaining about the complainers. It's a tale as old as time. I can come off as cynical, whiny, and nitpicky, but that's because I am. Immediately beneath it is an appreciation for where we are, though.

I don't find this place super negative, just saying I still have a childlike enthusiasm for this hobby and that is why I do it. A lot of reveals leave me like "Whoa that's cool, when can I get it!?" I wish there was more of that and less overanalyzing. The Maximum line will be filling my shelves with amazing renditions of characters I love after decades of being fan. If it costs me a little extra $$ to do so who cares? Like I can't make back $20 quickly??? lol it's absurd and embarrassing the way some people go on about value or Hasbro being greedy.

To be clear, I feel comfortable saying that here because posters here are reasonable and well informed I think. YouTube....that place can be insane and these "influencers" only make it worse. Terribly uninformed opinions and fashionable price - bashing are irritants for me. Unfortunately I feel it's my duty as a super-nerd to be aware of what's out there and be positive when possible. I was a complainer in the past but always because the product was lacking or outright sucked. Now that the product is better than ever, and so our options, I'd like it to stay that way, it's worth a little more money and budgeting energy.

Calling other customers who are price-conscious "embarrassing" is pretty unnecessary.

The Hellfire Spidey on display in Canada has dampened my enthusiasm for that figure. Something about the color combo is looking cheap (ooooooohhhhh) in that lighting. At least they painted his back!

Constant negativity. Zero balance.

Hands being racist is funny to me... considering people actually want something classic in this climate. Never gonna happen.

If someone flagged the hands on the suit version as being racist, no way in hell we are getting that classic suit (the beard, I believe doesn't pass the 2025 racism test).
Personally the hands don’t bother me. But historically, I see their point. As for the rest of that costume, I don’t see anything racist there. He just looks like a goofy Silver-Age villain to me. I’m also unclear what you mean regarding the beard.

Not to belabor it - and I know it's way easier to distill the sentiment down to "no negativity" or "no criticism" to make this about your opinions being censored... but it's not. At all. Debate, critique, complain... but for some, if you go through your post history you might notice that nearly all comments are negative or complaints. At that point, why not make a healthy choice to move on? I get it... you invested in the line. Knowing when to get out is way more important. As some of said, they only really feel need to post when they're unhappy about something. Alright, why not get in the habit of talking about things you do like just to break the habit of negativity? So many people are pissed off about their day-to-day lives - projecting it onto Hasbro or Legends isn't going to make it better. The subjective value based on your financial position isn't going to make Legends meet your lofty expectations. "What if you found something to replace this constant source of negativity" isn't the root of all evil some of you want to make it.

I had JayC's stream on the other day and he seemed to be implying a Maximum price increase. I was sorta half listening as he segued into Marvel after droning on and on about Walmart cancelling preorders.

I'm not even sure I know the acceptable term for it, but I think the beard is considered incentive some cultures. I think most integrations have some element that are deemed offensive. I'm very curious how they would go about releasing a more classic costume that someone doesn't cause an uproar. My bet is we don't actually get another one beyond the suited version.

You don’t even have that power, so it’s fine.
😉
haha no, but to hear some people talk about it, pointing out negativity is akin to saying those opinions don't belong. I do love how much you like to point out the "power," though. Seeing people get their first taste of any sort of authority or real responsibility is so cute sometimes.

If this is true, then Hasbro isn’t reading the room very well, given how a lot of people already seem skeptical of this subline.
I have thought about it, and I would like to see Merged Hulk, Iceman and Archangel in this line. Probably the only ones I would buy. Although they could probably be done to an acceptable degree (for me) as deluxes.

I wouldn’t be surprised if you were right. But didn’t Dan hint that maybe there was another version possible? And as far as classic versions go, this one seems pretty inoffensive.

I don’t get you. I asked a legitimate, non-offensive non-aggressive question. And you felt the need to be unpleasant. After your little lecture on internet negativity.
Please allow me to translate him for you.

I'm an insufferable clown who thinks I'm an authority on the subject matter and feels the need to overcompensate for my many insecurities by marginalizing and belittling fellow members' opinions on a constant basis through the use of strawman arguments and snarky insults. I am often at the center of these dust-ups because I just can't help myself or let things go. I've been this way since I first joined the Fwoosh many years ago and have shown no sign of growth or maturization. In fact, I was branded with the subnic "Pretentious Buck" by ROBOkillah because I'm so incredibly awesome.

Yeah he did, on Twitter. I have no idea which version people would be excited for that wouldn't offend someone. The suit was the most bland choice - and the hands were still a problem.

I'd rather be an insufferable clown than someone always crying about toys? I love how much I mean to you though, Lucid. Whatever imagined rivalry we have brings me immense amusement.
