Star Wars Black Series

Lame admission: I'd be happy with a rancor with the scale and quality of a Mythic Legions troll at this point if it's relatively cheap. But I think the Haslab killed any option of us ever getting one of them.
I think that's a huge problem for SWB right now. Plenty of collectors WANT a Rancor in their collection to go with other Jabba-adjacent stuff, but most of us are convinced that the failure of the HasLab means it will never happen. Not because we don't want it, but because Hasbro is run by spiteful pieces of shit that will REFUSE to try to get it to us another way in deference to punishing us for not buying it their way.

My Chewie can side-shimmy his whole head to the right an unnatural amount, but not left (maybe the bandolier is blocking him). It doesn't turn though. Are others like that?
Ok someone who has the newest Chewbacca pose him in his sassiest head tilt pose and post here to convince me I need to upgrade my super old ANH one.

Bear in mind that most of my displayed figures are nowhere near natural light or anything, and I suck at photography, but I tried to help you both out:

Do it!

Overall, what I can say about this Chewie is that I'm not disappointed. I haven't held or moved the old Chewie in a year or two at this point, and I'm pretty sure I sold it last year? But the one thing I really remember was how disappointed I was; how much I just felt like anything I wanted to do with him couldn't be done and how I felt like I was working around and/or against the figure just to get it into the display. I do not feel any of those things with this Chewie.

So while I can't make definitive comparisons that this part or that part works better or looks better, I can say that I just like this Chewbacca figure, and I haven't liked a Chewbacca figure since I was a kid.

That Chewie looks really good. I like him standing by that Luke who is summoning the Power of Grayskull.

I should get this Chewie figure in a week or so. I think it has an August 12 shipping date on Pulse. Of course, the Han from the same Wave had an August 1 shipping date, and that scoundrel still hasn't moved.

Luke who is summoning the Power of Grayskull.
Haha! Yeah, basically. I wanted to go for a vintage poster look, but Luke (like 99.99% of action figures, to be fair) can't really pull off the two-handed above the head, pointing up pose that was going on in that poster. Then I tried the pose where he holds it out sideways like the first time he ignites it, but that takes up a fair bit more real estate. So, I settled for this.
That being said, he pulls off a pretty good two-handed saber pose as well.

Dash and Han were due from Amazon Canada today, but delayed indefinitely.

Then I click through my orders and see both are In stock, sold by Amazon.ca to ship today, at 50+.

Alright.

I'm not too concerned about the Rancor, personally. Granted, it's Hasbro we're talking about, so you never know, but Mattel just released the Lost World T-Rex in an SDCC pack after their crowdfund for basically the same thing failed a couple years back. If Hasbro wanted to release it, they would, whether that's as a con exclusive, a made-to-order thing, etc. Yeah, they (at least the Star Wars team) does seem like the type to punish collectors in a weird way, but they'll never not do something if it's financially beneficial for them, hence the insane part reuse. I'm confident we'll see the Rancor eventually, whether that's for the 50th, for ROTJ's 50th, or just some random release.

I may have to get the new versions they look so good. I am so weak!
Do it.

I dunno... it's been years and that is a pretty important creature. Not saying they can't figure it out. I don't think they want to because they're petty children. Moreover, I think the higher ups are exactly the sort to say 'it failed and that means no one wants it' which means they would not put effort or money into finding a way to make it available again. PLUS, they're exactly the kind of idiots that think finding a different release strategy for the Rancor would undermine the entire HasLab concept and convince people to never back them.
The one reason to make it is the sunk cost of getting to the point of the HasLab and trying to make that money well spent. But that's up against a half-dozen reasons they'll have to NOT do it.
