G.I. Joe Classified Series

An author I grew up reading once said he's never opened a copy of one of his own books and not immediately found a typo, like magic. And he's always been a big name with full support of his publisher, not some midlister just trying to scrape by.
....is it Neil?

Sadly yeah, which is why I have self-edited from "one of my favorite authors" to someone I grew up reading, cos... well, my list of "please don't secretly be a monster" got shorter this year. Pretty sure it's just Mark Hamill, Stephen Colbert, and William Gibson at this point.

(Actually, staying on topic for the thread... Larry Hama's definitely on my "Please be as decent a person as I think you are" list, which is very fuckin' short these days.)

Right. I regret shining a light on it now, sorry. But yeah... Hopefully the next generation of creative people know to be not horrible.

I can vouch for Lary Hama being a stand up guy. I met him at a con, he signed my GI Joe #1, #21, and a few other choice Joe books, he was very generous, I wasn't disappointed.

Speaking of not being disappointed, I got Cover Girl and Tele-Viper from BBTS today. Both are incredible. Cover Girl I ALMOST passed on because I have the first release but new CG looked different enough (ie completely different) that I thought I may as well bite. Glad I did. She's really pretty.....she looks like she could be a cover girl. Her eyes might be a little too big, a bit on the cartoony side but it's fine. I like her wrench and her sledge hammer, tanking a page from Tollbooth. I have her posed with those and her hat.

Tele Viper was my first GI Joe. This is one of those figures that makes 40 year olds go on the internet and write, "I remember getting [insert action figure name here] and I remember [insert nostalgic memory here]", that's Tele Viper for me. The figure is a 10 out of 10, there is nothing more you could do to make him a better Tele Viper.

Both figures are great and it's not some fluke. It's par for the course for this toy line.

I went in my son's room today, which was a cool chance to see the Techno-Viper that I bought and paid for and was definitely supposed to be for me. So... that's cool.
I used to have the entire MOTU Classics line including the castle and it was all about playing with those toys with my kids. I have some great memories of having to take off work when one of them was sick and spending hours playing with those figures. We also played with the old TMNT toys too. They would bust up laughing every time Bebop would swing his arm up and hit himself in the face with his gun.

My girls are into my MOTU Classics stuff too as well as my 90's 12" Leia and Darth Vader and Kenner Dark Knight Collection Batcave. That stuff's seen a lot of play this summer.

Most of the existence of my MOTU-O collection is predicated on it being a shared collection with my son that we can take down and play with whenever we want. When my daughter was younger, she would actually always bug me to take down my MOTUC Grayskull so we could play with it, and of course I would. I can't tell you how many times Adora and Bow went on shopping trips in Castle Grayskull. Haha. Good stuff. Wouldn't change those days for anything.

So I've got to grab Cold Slither, Savage Land set, and the Star Wars Black series set. Going to split them into 3 different orders to avoid the signature required BS on the shipment and also to ensure I get the most sought after one.

Question is, what do you think is most likely to sell out first?

Based on how fast Cold Slither sold out the first time, I’d go for that first. I think Star Wars set will take the longest of those three.
