Almost certainly a reaction to criticism from every corner that modern Marvel movies do NOTHING but sarcasm and quipping these days. I'm okay with less of that for a while, personally.
 
Pascal says he won't go clean-shaven anymore. Honestly, he looks best with a moustache. As someone who can only grow a patchy beard, I don't like patchy beards.

It doesn’t even make sense. If he grows stalagtite facial hair, has his dome been a Guy Gardner haircut all this time??
